Its that time of the year that we will be saying goodbye to 2011 and entering into 2012. Year 2011 was full of excitement and celebration at the Hindu Society of Alberta. We celebrated most of our festivals with our fellow community members, friends and families. Although the list of celebrations is long, I have to mention two of our recent highlighted programs. Our Diwali celebration in October was enjoyed by each and everyone who was present. Our Board and volunteers put in a tremendous amount of work to bring smiles on everyones face. We were able to bring most of the Indian societies together under one roof for the biggest day in Hindu Culture. Secondly, the Tulsi Vivah celebration in November was enjoyed by everyone at the temple. The amount of effort put in by the host families cannot be left out without recognition. Year 2012 will also be filled with loads of programs at the Mandir. Although a detailed list of programs from January to April 2012 is enclosed for your reference, I have to mention the upcoming third and fourth (concluding) step of Maha Mritunjay Mantra Anushthan. This is a one of a kind of experience for people taking part in this Anushthan. We do not have to go to India to arrange these kinds of prayers in big holy places we get a chance to do this right in our city. We are so blessed to get these opportunities right here in our home town. The other important upcoming programs include the Saraswati Group Pooja by children and Sai Baba Moorti Stapana at the Hindu Society of Alberta. We encourage everyone to visit our website regularly to get up to date information on all the programs. Please email us to add your name to the Hindu Societys mailing list and all future programs will be sent to you on a regular basis.
