After the energy audit

Turning potential savings into real savings

For many organisations, energy is one of the top 3 production costs. Energy savings contribute to future revenues by improving profitability, enhancing a companys environmental brand and reducing its vulnerability to future energy shortages or price increases. Despite all of the positive reasons for companies to implement energy saving programmes the evidence is that industry is not achieving savings. The issue does not seem to be in identifying energy saving opportunities as many companies have made use of government supported schemes to identify where savings can be made. The issue is around turning opportunities into reality. A recent department of the environment survey in the US found that, of all the opportunities for energy savings identified, 44% had a payback of less than 9 months, but a staggering 92% had not been implemented within 12 months of being identified. The root causes of the failure to implement improvements are numerous, including lack of time, priority, required skills, effective plans etc. However a big opportunity remains to be captured. ABB has worked with customers around the world and delivered measurable energy savings. We have done this in niche technical areas, as well as site wide programmes. Through this masterclass we will share some of the learning we have gained about how to turn potential savings into real ones. The masterclass consists of some presentation sessions, but also breakout sessions where delegates will be applying the input to the situations they face. There will be added benefit for two people from the same organisation working together in the breakout sessions. Energy champions / managers Development engineers Operations and maintenance engineers and managers Improvement managers Who should attend The masterclass is designed for those responsible for or involved with delivering an energy efficiency programme and need to understand how to overcome some of the barriers to progress. Typical attendees would include; Improve the overall energy efficiency of your organisation Understand the additional benefits of energy projects (eg. legislative) Understand the barriers to implementing improvement and how to avoid them, they may be overcome Develop a sustainable and prioritised energy efficiency programme Develop and specify improvement projects Monitor and review progress of the programme Price: 420 + VAT Benefits On completion of this masterclass you will be able to:
