SPEED is the internal credit monitoring software that is developed to automate the manual process of Credit Monitoring - Process of collecting the collateral status (Financial status like credit balance, debit balance etc) from various SCB systems and consolidate the current status and withdrawing limit of a customer. SPEED automated this process by having offline INTERFACES with various SCB systems like HOGAN, CLS (Corporate (Loan) Lending System), RLS (Retail Lending Systems), IMEX (Trading System). From the systems mentioned above, SPEED will receive collateral (i.e. Securities) information like name of the collateral, to which it is liened in the system i.e. mortgaged in the system, and the LV (Loan able Value) of the collateral i.e. the percentage of the collateral the customer can hire in form of loan. Users are also having the option to manually lodge i.e. mortgage the collaterals into speed. Depends upon the LV and Trigger LV and Sellout LV, SPEED will give the withdrawing limit through various Facilities the ways which through the customer barrow / use the limit. This limit will be uploaded to the HOGAN, the Core Banking System of the Standard Chartered Bank. Then the customer can barrow the amount using his debit card. This is one of the facility, SPEED provides the customer to use his / her limit.

SPEED is capable of handling the following type of collaterals: 1. Shares (Equities and Bonds) : Equities are shares issued by companies. Profit or Loss will be equally divided among share holders depends upon their holdings. Bond is like a loan from customer. In case of Bond, Company is liable to pay the customer irrespective of loss / profit. 2. Mutual Funds : Mutual Funds or a unit trust is a form of collective investing. Unit Trusts collect money from different people and money is pooled and used to buy a range of separate investments by specialized fund management companies. Investors will get benefit / loss depends upon the number of units they bought. 3. Fixed deposit : Commonly known as long / short term savings. 4. PCI ( Premium Currency Investment) : PCI is the saving scheme based on the Foreign Currency exchange rates. 5. Structured Deposit / Structured Notes : It is a type of fixed deposit which is having both withdraw able and none withdraw able portions. 6. Hedge Funds : It is a type of Mutual Funds with Short Selling option. 7. Property Lodgments : We can use our properties as collateral to get limit from SPEED. 8. Document / Property Document Lodgments : It is used to store the ids of collateral documents that are mortgaged in the system. 9. Other Securities Lodgment: It is used to mortgage the securities other than the ones mentioned above. The SPEED system is currently enhanced to implement the requirements from Standard Chartered Banks in UAE, Japan.
