1. Starting Up
Welcome to CABAL Online!
In order to play CABAL Online, you will have to register on the website with your Username and then create a
game User ID. This is because many game User IDs can run under one Username. This will be explained in more
detail later.
1.1 Registration
In order to play the game, you must first register on the website at https://www.cabalonline.com/register/.

1.2 Creating a User ID
The next section will create your game User ID which you will use to log into the game. You will be able to create
many game User IDs; this means that your whole family can be managed under one website account.
(Please note that your account will be charged per game User ID.)

1.3 Downloading and Installing the Game
After you have successfully created a website Username and a game User ID, the next step is to download the
game itself.
Go to http://www.cabalonline.com/data/default.asp
You will be able to download the game using one of the two links. (It is entirely at your discretion which you
choose).

3. Game Controls
You may prefer one or the other but as you get more skills you will find you need to use both to maximise your
game play.

4. Global Positioning System
You can bring this up by left clicking the globe icon in the function bar or by tapping M on the keyboard.
The GPS shows your location, by selecting the map you want to see on the right side panel you can view it in the
middle panel. More maps of other towns will be added to your GPS as you earn them by completing certain
quests. By clicking on the option below the map you can see the map is colour coded by the strength of the
monsters in relation to your level.

5. Other Information
This is a quick overview of some options available to you. Although it not essential to the game, it is recommended
that you become aware of them and what they do.

5.3. Game Options
Enable character…: these settings allow you to send and receive whispers/shouts, make
trades/parties and participate in PvP (duels).
Display: these options determine what will be displayed on the main screen
• Player Name: display the player’s name
• NPC Name: display the Non-Player Character’s name
• Guild Name: if the player belongs to a guild, display their guild
• Character HP: display the character’s health points
• Dialogue Bubbles: display on your main screen what players say in general chat.
• Monster Name: display the monster’s name
• Item Name: display the item’s name
• View Helmet: display the helmet, if one is equipped
• Monster HP: : display the monster’s health points
• Combo UI on Top: display the combo user interface
Misc: these options affect the camera movement and your user interface. Options of note
include:
• Auto Attack: once selected, you will automatically start hitting the enemy/monster
after using a skill on them; this is thus mainly meant for melee classes.
• Use Number Keys: you can use your keyboards number keys and the two keys next
to them for your shortcut bar, if it is not selected you can use F1 up to F12.
• Rotate Camera: you can move around the camera view to your own desire if it isn’t
selected you can choose between 3 preset camera angles which you can toggle with
Page Down. Back View will lock the camera at a certain camera angle.

6. The Forum and the Game Advisors
The CABAL Online forum is an online discussion group, where you can meet other CABAL Online players and
find support and tips about playing CABAL Online.
All the important announcements about the game are posted in the Forum by the “Game Masters” (GMs).
The Game Advisors (GAs) are available both on the forum and in the game to greet newcomers and answer all
your queries. On the Forum they are easily spotted by their orange titles and in the game look out for them with
their “GAME ADVISOR” signs.

By reading this starter guide you should be able to create an account and a character, know what the controls do,
and be able to chat in several modes and be able to find your way around Nevareth.

8. Glossary
Drop verb - A monster leaving behind equipment when slain.
noun - The equipment itself that is left behind when a monster is slain.
Guild noun - An organized team of players that have banded together for a common cause.
Heal verb - The act of restoring health points (health, hit points, HP) to a player so that he may cheat death
another few seconds.
HP noun - Hit points, also known as health points, damage points, life points and countless other synonyms,
are points used to determine a character's overall health.
Mod noun - A moderator, or someone who manages control over the game and handles with rule-breakers
MOB noun - A mob is a single NPC, usually one that is meant to be killed for experience or loot, though strictly
speaking any computer controlled creature is a MOB. MOB is usually (but not always) interchangeable
with Monster (see below).
Party noun - A group of players fighting together. The party, or group, often consists of varied classes that
support one another through their differing movesets
Patch noun - a new set of files that must sometimes be downloaded and installed by each player. These files
usually contain updates and bug fixes to the game, and sometimes contain new features, new quests, new
content, or any other addition, deletion, or alteration of the game that the designers have decided to "push
out." All players must have the latest patch installed to continue playing.
PK noun - Player Killing, the act of killing another player without requesting a duel.
PvE adj - Player vs. Environment, describes player interaction with the environment, usually involving
combating NPCs. Also known as PvM, Player versus Monster.
PvP adj - Player versus Player, occurs when two players engage in combat or describes a system that allows
this.
Quest noun - Built-in goals or objectives that are issued to the player by NPCs, and which, when completed,
often yield specific rewards, such as equipment, money, experience, or faction.
