Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God

God desires to bless us. Mary is called the Blessed Mother because as she received Gods blessing she became a blessing to all of us. Receive the blessing of God in the Eucharist and be a blessing to your family. Pray the blessing from todays first reading at home: The Lord bless you and keep you! The Lord let His face shine upon you and be gracious to you! The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace! (Insert graphic 1106-0086)
366 Holy Hours were kept before our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration this past week. The hour that you spend with Jesus is spent any way that you want. You may bring your own prayer books, read the Bible, pray the rosary or just sit and enjoy the sweet peace that comes from simply being in the presence of God. You may feel that you cannot pray well. Do not let this discourage you. The mere fact that you take out a specific time each week to spend an hour with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament pleases him very much, and is in itself a prayer of great faith. Start the New Year by joining the Holy Hour program; please contact Judy Soltis at 330-212-0926. (Insert Graphic 2404-0106.tif)

Dear Parishioners: This year marked the 10 anniversary of the CHRISTMAS DAY DINNER. Once again we had all the volunteers we needed and more. The monetary needs were met at no cost to the parish budget. Many warm dinners were served. Stomachs were filled; faces smiled. Heads and hands warmed through the gift of hats and gloves. Warm hospitality was enjoyed by all who attended. Thank you to everyone who participated in any way: The numerous people who helped set up, serve and clean up after the dinner; the cooks; the Market Day patrons who again generously donated pies for the dinner; and all who donated baked goods, food items and money to cover the dinner expenses. The dinner is a wonderful testament to your generosity and love and concern for others. THANK YOU. Karen Bellett.
