INTRODUCTION Assignments given want us to design common emitter amplifier that meet the specification.

There is several type of common emitter configuration. We used emitter bias configuration that contains an emitter resistor to improve the stability level over that of the fixed bias configuration. The improve stability will be demonstrated through a numerical example later in the section. The analysis will be performed by first examining the base emitter loop and then using the results to investigate the collector-emitter loop. The dc equivalent can be determined with a separation of the source to create an input and output section. The base - emitter loop and the collector emitter loop of the network can be redrawn using kirchoffs voltage law around the indicated loop.the addition of the emitter resistor to the dc bias of the BJT provides improved stability, that is, the dc bias currents and voltage remain closer to were they were set by the circuit when outside conditions, such as temperature and transistor beta, change. so, we can solve the problem by using mathematical analysis. In order to complete this assignment, first we design a rubric to specify what we should do. Second, we assume several values to get the calculation. At the same time, we use multisim to compare the result by using calculation with simulation.

This equation is derived from loop 1.

This equation is derived from loop 2.

While using multism, we just need to simulate the circuit in correct position to get the output values.

METHODOLOGY

We use two methods in order to solve the problem in this assignment. The first method that we use is calculating the values of certain resistances by formulae. The formulae are obtain from this equation :

VE = 1.5V

To find RC : RC = VRC / IC RC = (VCC VCE VE) / IC Figure 2 : SSMBEC RC = (15 (15/1.5) 1.5) / 1.5m RC = 2.3K
CALCULATION

Assume RE= 1K; Ic = 1.5mA Ic = IE = 1.5mA To find re:

RC = RO = 2.3K < 3K

To find RB: RB = VRB / IB RB = (VCC VBE VE) / IB RB = ( 15 0.7 -1.5) / 15 RB = 853.3K

To find IB : IB = IC IB = IB = IB =

USING THE MULTISIM The simulation was conducted to obtain the accurate value and compare the result from calculation with the result from the simulation

To find VE: RE V E / IE VE = 1K / 1.5m

because by using calculation we will consider two loop which is base emitter loop and collector emitter loop. Whereas, by using simulation in multism, it is different from we run. Besides that, we use SSMBEC to simplify the circuit so that we can simulate the circuit in order to obtain the value of . In order to find the resistances of RC, RB,RE, re and current base, IB, we use formula for calculation method while in multism software, we just insert the values of the specification given that suitable for our circuit. The output voltage and input voltage of the circuit are also simulated in multism software to get the waveform of this circuit. When doing this assignment, we are facing some problems. Firstly, weve obtained too small values for the currents when were applying the simulation. The readings is definitely not suitable for the circuit. So, weve changed the values of RB and RE. After that, weve try simulate again and we got the reasonable values.

DISCUSSION

From the assignment, we use emitter-bias configuration to design the common emitter amplifier. In order to design the circuit, first we assume beta. From the beta value, we can get the other value need to complete the circuit by following the specification given. We also use the try and error method to find the values in multism. The computation of each value by using multisim and calculation was slightly different. This is

As the conclusion, this assignment can be run successfully although the values that we get from the simulation and calculation are slightly different. We design circuit in multism just want to prove our calculation manually so the result that we calculate can be compare with multism results. We also are able to understand the characteristics of the Common Emitter Amplifier. We also able to learn how to design the common emitter amplifier based on the specifications given by using Multisim and calculation.
