Expectation of Professional Conduct

As members of the Purdue University community, we all share in the responsibility of conducting ourselves with professionalism and respect for one another, in a continued pursuit of intellectual discovery and growth. Rather than attempt to form an exhaustive list of regulations to guide our behavior while working together, we should continually be aware of how our actions affect others. We should seek to conduct ourselves in a manner where everyone can feel included in the journey of learning the guiding principles of human behavior in organizations.

Measurement of Performance Homework

Your performance in this portion of the course will be evaluated based on these components:

Individual Papers
w Independent, multi-variable, higher order
thinking pieces for self-expression and further refinement of concepts. w Submitted via Blackboard before the hard deadline. w Extra credit available for early submission.

w Brief exercises to reinforce core concepts. w Submitted via Blackboard before your recitation meeting. w Attendance in class is required for credit. w Missed assignments cannot be made up, but the two lowest scores are dropped.

Group Project
w Complex, multi-variable, sustained effort
project requiring diverse perspectives for successful completion and to instill a working knowledge of concepts.

Attendance
w Your colleagues depend on your presence to
ensure a vibrant learning environment, and your success in this course depends on it. w You should be prepared to begin at the scheduled start time.

Performance Feedback
w Numeric Feedback for each assignment can be found on Blackboard. w Written Feedback will be written on assignments as necessary. w Personal Feedback Sessions are face to face meetings which can be initiated by you or the instructor as needed to discuss course or other concerns.

University Disclosures
Academic Integrity
Standards set by Purdue University as outlined in the Student Handbook and the University Regulations will be observed in this course. Any student found participating in cheating, plagiarism, copying material from another persons papers or electronic files, using illegal cribs or other materials during a written examination, lying to course instructors about his or her own work, stealing tests, quizzes, or answer keys, and any such activities will be considered in conflict with the printed academic honesty guidelines as set out by Purdue University and the College of Technology. In such cases the matter will be reported to the Office of the Dean and the appropriate Purdue University administration officers for consideration and possible disciplinary action.

These required disclosures may affect the normal administration of this course.

Campus Emergency

In the event of a major campus emergency, course requirements, deadlines, grading percentages, and other attributes, are subject to change. In such an event, the University News Service will provide information to the university community through press releases via the media, including radio, television, and Internet. Course changes will be communicated through Blackboard, the course web page, telephone, or other means deemed necessary and efficient.

Severe Illness

If you believe you are suffering from a severe illness that requires medical attention, you should consult the Purdue University Student Health Center (PUSH) or another health care provider and seek treatment. Coming to class while ill could jeopardize your health and the health of others. Proper notification and documentation from a physician allows missed assignments to be submitted up to seven days after notification.

Reasonable Accommodation

If you are having difficulty with course requirements due to a physical or mental condition, or an extenuating circumstance, have a discussion so that we may work together to find a possible solution.
