The hotel group operates over 130 hotels in 56 countries around the globe. For Assistant General Manager Bob Oord, communication plays a crucial role in managing Le Meridien. His job involves communicating with dept. Heads, staff, guests, suppliers, and senior management, through both formal and informal channels. The assistant general Manager is personable and has become known for his management by walkabout styleA daily routine of monitoring operations and staff by conducting a walk-through inspection of the entire hotel. Bob Oord creates a variety of meetings where managers can discuss their duties and schedules while receiving important feedback. In between meetings, employees utilize various communications technologies to coordinate efforts and report back to the Assistant General Manager.
