MALAYSIA CHINESE CULTURE PHOTO OPEN CONTEST 2011

OBJECTIVES: The Chinese has been settling down in Malaysia for more than a century, and their ancestors had brought with them many of the cultures and traditions from their ancient land. These cultures and traditions were modified at times, and localized due to environmental differences. Eventually with the leap of time, these arts and skills had transformed into a unique specialty, which belongs only to the people of Malaysia. The major aim of this photo contest is to maintain and preserve these valuable arts and cultures, to share, to learn and enhance towards a better understanding and most importantly, to ignite the flame of interest among the younger generation. We sincerely invite all fellow photographers in Malaysia, regardless of races and walks of life, to participate and be part of this event with big cash prizes to be won. Among these arts, events and festivals (subjects) are the Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn, Dragon boats, includes Chinese wedding, martial arts, dragon and lion dances, Chinese chess, cooking, brush writing and painting, musical dancing and singing, religion, attires, educational, cultural presentations, delivery of the baton for the Chinese Culture Festival, etc. RULES AND REGULATIONS: 1. This photo contest is open to all Malaysian citizens of age 18 and above. 2. All submitted photographic images must be taken within territory of Malaysia. 3. Photographs will be judged in sets. All entry must be in set of four (4) photographs, regardless of single subject or multiple subject matters. Eg. All four (4) photographs of one subject (eg. lion dance), or one (1) photograph each on multiple subjects (eg. wedding, attire, brush writing and martial arts), or any other combinations. All submitted photograph must be printed on colour or black & white photo paper with exact size 12R (12x18) without mounting. 4. Only prints with minimal and acceptable adjustments on brightness, (overall or portion), contrast and colour saturation are allowed. Any manipulation on subjects, objects and scenes, superimposes, and other alterations deem unacceptable will be rejected. 5. Entrants must also submit CD / DVD of all the digital images in JPEG file format, and each image should be minimum size of 2.5 megapixels. 6. All submitted prints and CD/DVDs are non-returnable, and shall remain the property of the Organizer. The Organizer reserves all legal rights to reproduce, advertise, exhibit, publish in any mass media, without prior notification and compensation or rewards of any kind. 7. The Organizer will not be responsible for any monetary loss of property or equipments, accidental claims or liability of any other kinds, during pursuing of images for the contest. 8. All entry form must be completed with set no., title, festive, location, name, NRIC no., gender, address, age, email address and profession. The attached photo labels must be completed with title, name, NRIC no., and set no. and must be pasted on the top-left corner on the back of each photograph. All information on photographs must be synchronized with the entry form. 9. Each entry form allows submission of one (1) set of 4 photographs. Entry fee is RM 5.00 per entry form. Each entrant may submit unlimited entries. 10. There is no limit of number of entry for each contestant, except all print submissions should be taken and all rights solely owned by the entrant. 11. Photographs that had won any prizes, accepted or been mentioned in any other photo contest, will be disqualified and rejected. This includes photographs taken from the same sequence. 12. The Organizer will do its best in handling submissions, but will not be responsible for any delays, mishandles, lost or damages, during delivery or transits. 13. The Organizer reserves all rights to reject unqualified, incomplete submissions or any other reasons without any explanations. 14. The Organizer reserves all right to add, delete and amend any rules and regulations deem necessary, without prior notice. 15. The decision of the Penal of Judges will be FINAL. No oral explanation or correspondence will be entertained. 16. The Entry Form can be obtained from the following Submission Centre, or download from our website at www.sabahartandphotographicsociety.com Photocopies of the entry form are acceptable. 17. All submissions MUST REACH the following Submission Centre, before 17:00 Hours on the 15th October, 2011. All late submissions will not be entertained.
