For our struggle is not against esh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
Just as our own Civil Rights Movement was led by youth, the ANC, during the 1940s, departed from their ini al conserva ve approach as the ANC Youth League was formed and led by Walter Sisulu, Oliver Tambo and Nelson Mandela. The movement soon adopted an ideology of African na onalism and began a Programme of Ac on calling for strikes, boyco s and deance.

The ANC led one of the great movements of our me. From crushing oppression and colonialism, through ever more restric ve apartheid laws that dened racial castes and privilege, restricted free movement, prohibited mixed marriages, and mandated separate educa on systems, the ANC was a pillar of strength and source of pride for all of Africa . . . and for all Africans in Diaspora. As one of the churches to sound the clarion call for an end to apartheid and white rule, in 1977 we stood with you and put out a Free South Africa sign. Through the years that followed, Trinity UCC called for dis-investment in companies that did business in South Africa to put pressure on the regime; and, in 1994, we celebrated with you, as the world welcomed President Mandela as a new symbol of Dr. Kings admoni on that, the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards jus ce. On behalf of the congrega on of Trinity UCC, we extend congratula ons on the wonderful occasion of your 100th Anniversary.
May God keep the res of justice burning hot within your hearts as you continue the ght for a j g just society.

2012 Trinity UCC Theme Walking, Talking and Living Our Faith, Ephesians 4 (NLT)
January Ephesians 4:1 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. February Ephesians 4:2 Always be humble and gentle. Be pa ent with each other, making allowance for each others faults because of your love. March Ephesians 4:3 Make every eort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. April Ephesians 4:4 For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. May Ephesians 4:5-6 There is one Lord, one faith, one bap sm, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all. June Ephesians 4:7 However, he has given each one of us a special gi through the generosity of Christ. July Ephesians 4:11 Now these are the gi s Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. August Ephesians 4:12 Their responsibility is to equip Gods people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. September Ephesians 4:13 This will con nue un l we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of Gods Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. October Ephesians 4:14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We wont be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be inuenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. November Ephesians 4:15-16 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body t together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. December Ephesians 31-32 Get rid of all bi erness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
