It is that time of year again to prepare for the annual meetings. In order to get the annual reports completed by Sunday, January 15th, all the information needs to be turned in by Sunday, January 8th. Information can be e-mailed to owatpaape@aol.com.

January Time Change


Just a reminder that worship times will be changing in January, starting Sunday, January 1st. Aurora Worship Service: 9:00 a.m. Trinity Worship Service: 10:30 a.m. Sunday School at Aurora will resume on Sunday, January 8th. Aurora Sunday School: 10:00 a.m.

Aurora Annual Meeting Agenda


Listed is an agenda for the Aurora Annual Meeting that will be held on Sunday, January 29th. Annual Meetings
The annual meetings for Trinity and Aurora will be taking place on the following Sundays. Please note Worship Service and Sunday School time changes on Sunday, January 29, 2011: Trinity Annual Meeting will take place on Sunday, January 22, 2011 following the Worship Service. Aurora Annual Meeting will take place on Sunday, January 29, 2011 following the Worship Service. Please note the time change for January 29th only. Aurora: 9:15 a.m. Sunday School 10:30 a.m. Worship Service Trinity: 9:00 a.m. Worship Service

Following the meeting, a lunch will be served. Hostesses for the lunch are: Angie Jensen, Kali Jensen, Betty Jensen, Amy Gillis, and Sue Condon.

Young Adult Group


Need a resolution for 2012? The Aurora/Trinity Young Adult Group will be forming early in the year. Young Adult Group offers a way to stay connected to what really matters -faith, family, friends, fellowship-through the unique perspectives of young men and women just like you. Lets ring in 2012 with a fresh start amongst old friends and new friends to come! Please look to the January newsletter for more information.

Food Shelf Sunday at Aurora


The next food shelf Sunday at Aurora will be on Sunday, January 1st. Please give to help those who are less fortunate.

Aurora Scholarships
Scholarship applications are now available from Pastor Jon & Jeanne Pichner, President. There are four scholarships for students who are currently attending a college or trade school. The four scholarships will be awarded sometime in January of 2012.

Discussion Group
Beginning on Monday, January 9th, Pastor Jon will be hosting a discussing group based on the book Making Sense of Scripture: Big Questions About the Book of Faith by David Lose. This book invites us to engage in a conversation about seven major questions about the Bible. The group will meet on Mondays from 6:30pm8pm for 7 weeks. Location will be determined once those interested have signed up and there is a sense of how many will be involved. The cost of the book is $12. Please sign up by December 18th.

Friday Game Night


Need a night out! Come and enjoy an adult social night on Friday, January 13th starting at 6:30 p.m. Bring a game that you want to have fun playing with others and a snack to share. Parents daycare will be provided by the Luther League.

Aurora WELCA News


The 2012 WELCA Book of Events is now available. Please pick your copy up in the Narthex. There will be Continental Breakfast and WELCA meeting starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4th. Following the business meeting we will organize Auroras photo album. Everyone is encouraged to bring photos of their Aurora memories. The coordinator for this is, Jodi Keck. The hostesses for the breakfast are: JoAnn Nelson, Jerianne Hendricks, and Jessica Walerius.

Events/Activities
Are you or your child(ren) involved or will be involved in any events or activities throughout the year? Please let Pastor Jon know. He would like to come out and support the event!

Family Movie Night


Starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 3rd, come with the family and enjoy an evening watching a movie with popcorn, cookies, and pop, all for 25 per person. All Aurora & Trinity members and friends are invited to attend!

Aurora Nursery
Do you have a little one and find yourself paying more attention to them instead of the church service? When you get home do you ever think, what did the minister say today? Bonnie Johnson is willing to do a nursery for babies through 4 years old every second Sunday of the month so you can enjoy the service and your little one is happy too. She will be starting on January 9, 2011 in the preschool/kindergarten room in the basement of the church.

Moving or Change of Address???


If you are moving, please be sure to notify the Church Secretary, Kayla Paape with your new address and phone information. Did you know that we have a service request on our mail? That means if we arent notified of an address change, the mail is returned to the church for a cost of 50 to $1.09. Please help keep costs down and keep your information current.

Welcome Corner
Welcome to Wyatt Archer Lehmann, son of Joshua & Katie Lehman. He became a member of Aurora through the Sacrament of Baptism on Sunday, November 27th. Welcome to Abby Jean Blaha, daughter of Janelle & Dillon Blaha. She became a member of Aurora through the Sacrament of Baptism on Saturday, December 17th. If anyone else is interested in becoming a member of the Aurora or Trinity Lutheran Church congregation, please contact Pastor Sue for new member information.

Christ in Our Home Booklets


The Christ in Our Home Booklets are available for the months of January, February, and March. Please pick yours up in the respective churches.

Aurora and Trinity Lutheran Parish has a website! This will be a place where people can find out more about Aurora and Trinity as well as a place for us to share pictures and stories of our events. Pastor Jons sermon will also be posted on the new website. Parts of the website are still under construction and will coming soon. Please take a look at it and if you have any feedback or ideas, please talk with Pastor Jon. Also, Pastor Jon needs help with maintaining the website and keeping the information current.
