Pachim KTanim from Rabbi Yudin: In honor of Parshas Vayechi. In the beginning of the Parsha, when Yosef accedes to his father's wishes to be buried in Eretz Yisroel we are informed that Yaakov prostrated himself toward the head of the bed. Rashi cites the Tanchuma that the Shechinah is found above the head of the one who is sick. The Gemara Brachos (27A) teaches that Rav was praying Shemoneh Esrei and his student Rav Yirmiah was praying behind him, when Rav finished first, he didn't pass in front of Rav Yirmiah to disrupt him. This law in codified in O.C. (102:4) that one is not to walk in front of one reciting Shemoneh

Esrei within their daled amos - 6 feet. The Mishna Berura (15) gives two reasons. 1. It will adversely effect the concentration of the one praying 2. he is interrupting the one praying and the Shechinah. Preferably, one should remain standing after their Shemoneh Esrei till after Kedushah, O.C.(123:2) . If one sits down, they should not sit directly in front of one still standing behind them, davening Shemoneh Esrei in respect to the Shechinah.
