ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER for WYOMINGS OUT-OF-OPTIONS FURKIDS

e-WOOF is a bi-monthly e-newsletter produced by a small group of Wyoming dog rescuers in an effort to highlight shelter dogs in critical need of help.
dogs that face euthanasia within days unless they are rescued, fostered, or adopted. Transport can be arranged, in most cases, to approved adoptive or foster homes or rescue organizations. Please help us! These are good, healthy, happy, loving dogs that are out of luck and out of time. We urge you to crosspost to e-mail lists and Web groups, forward to friends, send to co-workers, and share with family. We hope our efforts, combined with yours, will save many lives.

URGENT - Casper, WY Contact: Cathy Corbin at 307-267-6524 or rescuerangers2@yahoo.com 1. JAGGER is a Black Lab mix, 2 years old. Hi Everybody! Im Jagger and I would like to tell you about myself. Im a good looking dude who enjoys having a nice long, brisk walk. Im ready to go just as soon as whoever is walking me is ready. I think I would even enjoy jogging, or maybe cross-country skiing. Ive got beautiful shiny black fur, and Im a friendly type of guy who is interested in everything going on around me. Give me some scritches behind my ears, and I will be in heaven! As you can see, Im not a very big guy Id say about 19 to possibly 21 tall. Im eager to learn and would love to have someone teach me everything I need to know about becoming a teenager. Im looking for a new home, and I hope someone will open their heart and give me a second chance in life! 2. MAX is a Lab/Rottweiler mix, 2-1/2 years old. My name is Max and I would like to have a new home! Right now Im waiting at the pound. Im always ready to go for a walk and do some sniffing. I like to walk at a steady pace and sometimes I like to be the leader of the walk. Im quiet and dont have much to say, but Im interested and engaged any environment around me. I like to think of myself as a bit of a prince, and I like to have all the attention, so I would like to be the only dog in a home. Im ready for a new leash on life and hope someone will give me the opportunity to have a second chance! _______________________________________________________________ TIME LIMITED -- Rawlins, WY Contact: (307) 328-4534 or animalcontrol@rawlinspd.com 1. LELA is a very good girl. She is about 11 months old and has
been spayed. She is good with other dogs and people. She does love to play!

TIME LIMITED -- Rawlins, WY Contact: (307) 328-4534 or animalcontrol@rawlinspd.com 3. SID (photo below) is a black Lab about 7 years old. He likes people; great with kids! He will play fetch with you until you tire out! 4. BLACKIE.
(photo at right) Im Blackie. I look like a German Shepherd on a Corgi frame. I am a fast learner and would love to have someone to play with. I like running around the yard. I know how to sit and like lots of attention. ___________________________________________________________________

Time is of the essence for helping the dogs featured in the e-WOOF newsletters. Please contact the name/numbers for each dog before contacting e-WOOF. In most cases, time is limited for the dogs featured in our newsletters--with that in mind, we try to get the word out to as many contacts as we can using this publication. Work on behalf of the animals for finding them homes and/ or rescues comes from many, many sources and is an ONGOING effort dealt with a sense of urgency. In some cases there may be times when a sudden adoption and/or rescue comes through at the exact time our newsletter is issued. This is an unforeseen circumstance on our part--while we certainly understand the crossover may cause frustrations for you as the prospective adopter of an animal we hope you join us in rejoicing for an animal being saved. We appreciate and thank you for your continued support

PLEASE NOTE:

Needs a Home! -- Crossroads Veterinary Services, Inc Contact: 307-436-8313 or crossroadsvet@qwestoffice.net 1. GRIZ is a 1-1/2 year old, male, German Shepherd. He is currently in a home with two unaltered Pit Bull dogs who enjoy teasing him, are mean to him, and making his life not fun. Subsequently, Griz is mostly having to live outside and chained in the yard. Griz desparately needs a new home where he can be safe inside and loved. Griz gets along very well with other dogs--just not the other two dogs in his current home. Not sure how he would do with cats as he has not been around them very much. Griz has been fine around many older children and one 3 year old girl. Griz is a VERY FRIENDLY and CURIOUS guy and loves to play. He is current on his shots but is not neutered. Can you give Griz the home he deserves and needs so much?! ___________________________________________________________________ Wyoming Aussie Rescue -- Cloud Peak Australian Shepherds Contact: www.wyaussierescue.com 1. KATIE is 8 years old. We think she is possibly Australian Cattle Dog mix. Her story is a sad one. Katies owner died leaving her and her two canine friends homeless. The owners sister took the two pretty young ones and then took Katie to a high kill shelter to die. Wyoming Aussie Rescue spoke for Katies life on the day she was to be euthanized. Katies life has value! She is a dear soul. Healthy but overweight. She is very kind and loves people. She is good with other dogs and cats. She walks well on leash and she is house trained. We envision Katie losing the weight, being active and happy, and ready for the next adventures that her new life will bring. Despite the loss of her owner and her home, Katie is a spunky funny girl. She will surely give back to her forever home 10 times over. SPECIAL NOTE: Katies foster mom is leaving on vacation for a month. We are hoping to find her a forever home before she goes. Please keep Katie in mind.

is current on all vaccinations and microchipped! He is a fun and free-spirited dog who loves to run and play with other dogs and people. He would do best in a home with older children because he has so much energy and gets a little too excited at times but would make a great companion to anyone! This fun-loving boy has been at the shelter too long and needs a loving home to romp around in. Will the new year bring a new home for Houston? We (and Houston) sure hope so! ___________________________________________________________________

Hunnie is housetrained, reliable with freeroam, good off leash, and can live with other animals. Shes camera shy and doesnt photograph well, but its hard not to fall for Hunnie in person!

The Dog and Cat Shelter, Inc. -- Sheridan, WY Contact: 307-674-7694 or Cel at dogncat@fiberpipe.net 1. LITTLE BIT is a large two-year-old Bullmastiff/Boxer mix. She is a great dog, just as gentle as can be (but exuberant!). However, since shes so large and strong she needs some obedience training. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She loves attention from all ages of people and gets along with other dogs. Little Bit loves to go for walks and will stay right beside you, not pulling or straining on the leash. She is anxious for a permanent home. 2. CHLOE is a beautiful four-year-old blonde brindle Pit Bull mix and is a NICE GIRL. She had definitely been mistreated. Finally, she has quit cowering when being handled and is ready for a good home. Once she knows she can trust you, she shows a fun personality and will be your best friend and just want to be with you. She is not good with all other dogs so would probably be best as an only pet. However, she does very well with children! She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

The Dog and Cat Shelter, Inc. -- Sheridan, WY Contact: 307-674-7694 or Cel at dogncat@fiberpipe.net 3. MAX is a beautiful 7 year old bi-color German Shepherd. He is a large, gentle boy, weighing in at 96 pounds. Max was shuttled between at least two different homes and left tied outside at one home this winter--he needs a new, permanent home that will love and spoil him. He does have pannus, which is an eye condition that sometimes afflicts German shepherds. It has probably diminished his eyesight. He is not blind, but there is a possibility that the disease will progress and he may ultimately lose his sight. The condition requires a committed owner who will apply eye drops every day to keep the condition under control. He is a quiet boy, but when he came out to the exercise pen for photos and was given some happy encouragement, he came out of his shell and ran around chasing toys! He seems to get along with everyone, including other dogs. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. ___________________________________________________________________ SPECIAL NOTICE: A private party is needing to place two small dogs:

CHANTILLY is a four year old solid black Brussels Griffon. She was originally from a puppy mill, so is quite shy and will need continued socialization. She is housetrained to potty pads, but will go outside if given the chance. She is spayed and current on shots. She would do best in a one dog home. JOEY is a four year old female Pekingese. She is very friendly and outgoing with people, but doesnt get along great with other dogs. She is brown and white in color. She is spayed and current on shots. She is housetrained to potty pads but will go outside if given the chance. Both dogs are with their current owner in Gillette. Adopters will need to travel to Gillette to get the dogs, or have transport arranged. Please email us at ewoof@wyoming.com and well get you in touch with the owner to make arrangements.

2012

2012, a new year.....and a never-ending, continuous, marathon struggle. God, today let me touch one furry life in one small way, for their impact on me is so great. Help me to be to them what they are to me. Thank you for the calling in my life to serve You by protecting and fighting for animals. You see me as much stronger than I see myself, but Ill take that challenge every single day as an honor, bestowed. Amen
