A paedophile who has spent the last 47 years in custody has gone on the run for the third time. Convicted child sex offender David Marker, 75, vanished from a hospital unit in Taunton. He has been detained since 1965 after committing an indecent assault on a seven-yearold girl in Plymouth. Marker, a former engine fitter, was sent to the maximum security Broadmoor Hospital for an indefinite period after the judge described him as a sick man. Yesterday Avon and Somerset Police appealed to the public to help track down Marker, who escaped from the unit on Monday morning. Officers believe he may be in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, following a sighting. A knife attacker believed to have drugged then brutally mutilated a stallion has been branded sick and barbaric by its owner and legions of animal lovers across the country .
