LOC (London Offshore Consultants) was established in 1979 to provide independent, high quality, marine & engineering consultancy and surveying services to the worlds shipping and energy industries.
Over the past two decades, we have grown into a truly international organization with offices in the worlds major energy industry locations in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. This worldwide presence enables us to provide a prompt and cost effective service to our comprehensive client base. This includes oil companies, drilling, transportation and installation contractors, engineers and constructors as well as insurance interests, covering local and global needs. Our reputation was initially established offshore, as marine and engineering consultants and warranty surveyors for the transportation and installation of oil and gas platforms. Today, we apply our high quality consultancy and survey expertise to a much broader range of clients, projects and marine matters. Offshore, these include the decommissioning and removal of platforms and also rig moving services for drilling companies. The construction of new facilities often requires ocean transportation of large and high value modules, structures, equipment and process vessels. Onshore we offer our services to the chemical and petrochemical refining, power generation and maritime civil engineering industries.

Marine Operations Technical Support We are frequently requested to supply technical personnel to client teams to undertake or assist in the planning, execution and supervision of the marine aspects of a project. The broad backgrounds and considerable experience of our personnel with all types of marine operations enables them to make a significant and valuable contribution to the process.

Our Guidelines
We have published standard Guidelines for Marine Operations which are widely used by oil companies, engineers and contractors in the offshore industry. These provide guidance on the planning, design and execution of the majority of transportation and installation operations for offshore projects. We also prepare project specific guidelines for unique marine operations of particular complexity should our clients request us to do so.

Our Future
Offshore, new oil and gas fields continue to be discovered and developed, whilst mature fields reach the end of their useful lives and are abandoned. New developments will pose the challenges of deep and ultra deep water and increasingly remote locations, whilst the abandonment and removal of ever larger offshore facilities will see its own specific marine problems and issues to be overcome. Onshore, construction and expansion of new and existing refineries, chemical, petrochemical, LNG and power complexes to service both developed and developing global markets continues apace. These depend more than ever on the worldwide resourcing, supply and marine transportation of specialized and high value equipment for such projects.
