INTRODUCTION

1.1Introduction
No organization can sacked with out a certain level of commitment and effort from its employees. All workers have to direct towards organization goals. Human resource management policies such as wage scales and employee benefits generally have little impact on individual performance. But these policies do affect the desire of employees to remain with or leave the organization and its ability to attract new employees. The organizations reward system quid, its actions that have the greatest impact in performance of individual employees Salary increase, bonuses and promotions can be strong motivation of individual performance. The reward or compensation must justify in the employees mind, the extra effort that improved performance requires. There fore reward must be directly and specifically associated with improved performance. Now in the competitive world, organizational success depends on quality services provided by the organization to its customers so do this organization depends on its employees. The reward system in a high involvement organization needs to emphasize and support the idea of information, knowledge and power moving to the perform level. It can do this by rewarding individual for developing their skills, by facilitating the movement of information down ward in the organization and finally by balancing power with rewards that depend on performance. This research titled employee rewards and its impact on job satisfaction tries to explain the employee reward and its impacts on the employee satisfaction. This also has made referenced to Jaffna Teaching Hospital.

1.2Research problem
This means the study faces setbacks or failures it initiates its research procedures. The problem focused here can be stated as follows. a) b) Whether the reward system have impact on employees satisfaction. This study will encounter another problem in relationship to other

factors than mentioned above. Though favorable reward system, organizations try to create an environment, which will motivate their employees and increase their level of satisfaction, performance and commitment and could maintain low level of absenteeism turnover.

1.3Objective of the study


To identify to what extent the reward, exist among the insurance employee To identify the factors cause job satisfaction To identify the relationship between the employee rewards and their job satisfaction To identify the highly rewarded workers are more productivities then apathetic workers companies

1.4Significance of the research


In the modern world, there are several competitions among the organizations. So organizations have to keep and use its human resource effectively. They also have to motivate by providing rewards to their employees toward its goal. Employee satisfaction has long been, one of managements most difficult and important duty. There fore employee are more motivated committed and satisfied. When they feel as if they are significantly contributing to its companys success. This study will attempt to identify the relationship for organizational reward systems and the employee satisfaction. Finding of this study could enable organizations to make suitable alteration or take corrective action in their motivational 2

tools, which will assist them in reaching their objectives. finding of this study could also from further research questions for further investigation, in future on employee motivational practices in heath sector organization. This research will be conducted among a sample of nurses in hospital. The sample will selected for Jaffna district hospital. The sample size will be limited to 30 employees at different level of hierarch as follows. Grade1 0.8 Grade2 10 Grade3 12 It is difficult to measure all the factors influence on job satisfaction, in this research reward system is taken into account. This chapter explain about the reward system may exit in an organization. Objective of reward system and the determinants of the reward system also described here, and the employee behavior as satisfaction performance and commitment are expressed here. This review of literature also tells relationship between the reward system and such behavior as satisfaction commitment, performance, absenteeism and turnover. Overtime payment at fixed rate as follows Grade 01 Grade 02 A B 45/= 40/= 35/= per hrs per hrs per hrs.

Holiday payment will be providing in the following basis. Grade 01 and Grade 02A 1/20th of monthly salary. Grade 02 B-1/30th of monthly salary.

1.9 Chapter Frame Work. This research is trying to find out the relationship between employee rewards and job satisfaction.

This Chapter is an introduction to the research, chapter 2 summarizes the literature review given in various book and articles about employee rewards and job satisfaction. Chapter 3 illustrates the conceptual frame work of this research Chapter 4 explains some analysis of data. The data is collected by data collection method. Chapter 5 summarizes the conclusion made by the researcher concerned with the problem mentioned above.
