November 2003-August 2007 Morton Plant Mease Heatlh Services In October, 2006, I was hired as the Patient Access Services and Business Office coordinator at MedSpecialists Imaging Center, an innovative joint venture betw een Morton Plant Mease and radiologists. Not only do I oversee the daily functio ns of the center, I also was instrumental in working with insurance companies an d upper management to insure that our managed care programs were in place. I am responsible for scheduling, obtaining authorizations, registering and working wi th all insurance plans. I also created an excel spreadsheet to monitor our day t o day business. In March, 2005, as a request from upper management, I transferred laterally to C arlisle Imaging Center where I supervised 9 employees. My job functions remained the same, however, due to long waiting times, I was the liaison between staff a nd customer complaints. I also assisted with placement of team members in the A mbulatory Patient Access Services Rep Pool. In November, 2003, I was hired as the Patient Access Services coordinator at Tri nity Outpatient Center. I supervised a team of 6 members and I worked closely wi th the Imaging Manager and technologists. In my position, I was responsible for scheduling, obtaining authorizations, registering and working with all insuranc e plans. I was responsible for training new team members in all phases of the jo b, as well as training current employees in any new programs. I managed team mem bers' request for time off and worked with pool members when coverage was needed . I was also responsible for ordering departmental supplies, forms, and uniforms , petty cash management and maintaining the daily deposits. Lastly, I helped ref ine the One Call program, which worked closely with the doctors and their staff to develop better customer service for their patients. June 2002-Nov 2003 BayCare Health System I was part of a team that was responsible for the billing for all Morton Plant M ease Hospitals. This department was responsible for governmental and commercial billing as well as secondary claims. I worked with DDE and SSI and reported the results in an Excel spreadsheet. I also communicated with hospital representati ves if any additional information was needed to file and satisfy claims in a tim ely manner.
