Mr. Al-Hasani is an international economic and social development professional w
ith seven years experience in the implementation of programs supporting the U.S.
government mission in Iraq. After obtaining a degree in civil engineering with
a specialization in water resources, he joined the US Marine Corps in April 200
3 as personal assistant and translator to the Battalion Commander in Diwaniya, p
laying a key role in the battalions success. As the U.S. governmental mission fo
cus changed to development, he moved to work on the USAID local governance progr
am, where he headed a group of 70 facilitators that created 35 neighborhood coun
cils and later as a project engineer in agriculture and irrigation on regional a
nd national levels. Working for major contractors, he has received extensive tr
aining in with administrative and programming best practices, including U.S. Fed
eral Acquisition Regulations. In December 2008, he moved to the United States a
nd completed an MBA at the New York Institute of Technology in New York. Fluent
