German: A beginning language study. Learn colors, songs, numbers, and some conversational German phrases. Some history about Germany will also be taught with this language class. Age 10+ Cost: $5 Knitting: Learn knitting basics. For this class you need to bring your own size 8 knitting needles (bamboo are best but metal of plastic is fine) and 1 skein (ball) of worsted/sport weight yarn in the color of your choice. Age: 7+ Cost: BYO (Bring Your Own) materials. (maximum of 5 children) Magic Tree House: We will be reading book 2 and 3 of the Magic Tree House Series. Each week we will be discussing the assigned chapters and doing an activity based on the assigned reading. Each child will be expected to have a copy of the books (most likely available at the library). Age: Child needs to be able to read the books (or parent needs to be willing to read to the child). Cost: $3 and bring your own copy of the books. Chess Club: Children will learn the basics of chess by playing against each other. Seeing this is a club it is our hopes to also participate in local chess tournaments as a team. Tournament dates will be announced as needed. Cost for this club is bring your own boards. Tournaments do have fees and each family would be expected to pay for the tournament fees only if your child participates in a tournament. Age 5+ Cost: BYO boards. Preschool Potluck: A series of preschool activities: story time, crafts, and other age appropriate activities. Age: 2-4 Cost: $3. Heather will not be there on February 13th; so no class that day. Detective Club: Students will discover whodunit through lab analysis, narrowing of suspect lists,reviewing alibis and examining physical evidence. IN addition to deductive reasoning and logic skills students will take notes and organize their data. Crimes to be solved include sabotage, theft, and blackmail. Ages: 8+ Fee: $2 (Maximum of 8 children). Becky will not be there on March 5th; so no class that day.

Each week, there will be an animal craft friend to take home. We will also be doing some investigating of the outside, weather permitting.
