Board 1 of 3 Concept A creative catalogue that showcases BA (Hons) Graphic Design graduates of 2012; 53 brand spanking new designers,

thirsty for the professional industry. The resolution to this brief will be both informative and conceptual; with a definite focus on the standard of the course and celebrating the achievements of all on it.

Design Direction The focus within the publication will be on the concept and the graduates. The concept of our graduates being thirsty for more will continue throughout the publication, as each equal section of the publication dedicated to all 53 professionals will incorporate one full page existing for a photograph of each graduate. This is to ensure the emphasis of importance our course places on its proffesional graduates. The concept is a development of the magazine THE HUNGER by Rankin, that celebrates creative ambition past and present, and so the intention is to recreate that passion as it is integral that the enthusiasm and drive behind our students is adequately put across to the readers; we want it more than anybody. As there is generally a double page spread situated in the centre of the publication with a full picture of the course, in keeping with the concept of being thirsty for design, we propose an elaborate photoshoot; to line all members of BAGD and drown them in their own passion, to further illustrate our concept. The photograph used will be an action shot of water being thrown over the heads of the graduates.

Board 2 of 3 Content Design Direction Using a 12 column grid will allow contingency for all dimensions of designers work but can also give the possibility of a really exciting layout that will steer away from monotomy causing people to put the yearbook down. It will exist as a considered piece of design itself. To be sure of consistency but to alleviate confusion in recognising industry input from those of the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course just one typeface will be used, but fully utilising the font family to diffrentiate between the two. Times New Roman will be used on the basis of serif fonts being more legible than sans-serif, and where necessary, it will exist in bold and italics to separate quotations from persons of the industry and the designers etc.
