Presentation on Automated W eb Site Usability Evaluation

This coming week is a very special one for me as I will be presenting a session entitled Automating the Web Site Usability Evaluation Process at the DotNetNuke Web Connections 2011. This conference which is going to be held at the Hamburg University in Germany between the 16th and 17th June provides an ideal opportunity for getting in touch with DotNetNuke CMS professionals all around Europe and the US.

About My Presentation
Entitled Automating the Web Site Usability Evaluation Process, my presentation is based on some of the work that I have delivered in my thesis for the B.Sc. CIS Degree with the University of London. I have also presented some of these findings in a research paper which has been published in the International Journal of Human Computer Interaction (Vol 2 Issue 1 March 2011). In my presentation I will first provide an overview about web site usability and introduce Usability Evaluation (UE) as the collection of methods that help us in identifying usability problems in the user interface. I will then list a number of factors that are currently preventing web site usability evaluation from becoming a mainstream procedure within web development companies and propose automation of the UE process as a means to overcome these limitations and hence mainstream usability. The presentation will then focus on how automation has been achieved through the development of the USEFul Framework (USability Evaluation Framework) which enables a non-usability expert to conduct usability evaluation with a high degree of success. I will be delivering this presentation on the 17th June at 12:00 local time (UTC+01:00).
