Component I Quiz (5 Marks) Quiz evaluates the students in terns of the following:1. How to apply the concepts studied for solving a problem. 2. Quiz can help me understand how successfully I have presented the course material. 3. Consistently evaluates a student performance. 4. Ability to apply information in new situations.

Guidelines: The objective type questions and short questions will be asked in quiz. 1. Fill in the blanks and True / False questions may be asked in quiz. 2. There will be no negative marking. Component II Home assignments (5 Marks) Home assignments provide the students; useful pre selected reading material and problem sets. Carefully selected assignments encourage the students to put in independent work in the course and highly conducive to learning. Guidelines: 1. Logical and descriptive questions will be given. 2. Unsolved numerical questions may also be given for practice. 2. It will be compulsory to submit promptly and properly all the Home assignment.

Component III- Class Test This is an individual activity which test students basic knowledge in the given subject and by this component we can assess student- instructor performance. Component IV- Attendance It shall be the responsibility of the individual student to attend all classes, to take prescribed quizzes, tests, examinations, etc., and to submit, properly and promptly all assignments and homework. A student is expected to have 100% attendance. However, a relaxation of 25% attendance is given to the students to take into account some unforeseen/planned happenings which would hinder the student from having full attendance. Failing to achieve 75% attendance will result in the student being disqualified from appearing in the End semester Examination. Component V:- End semester examination As laid down in the academic regulations, the end semester examination is conducted at the end of the semester and is comprehensive enough to include the whole course. It serves the purposes of judging the students capability to integrate and inter-link various fundamental principles and application aspects of the course
