Types of scents

Floral most perfumes are created by flowers and this is a highly popular scent
Flowers used to create floral smell range from roses, gardenia, carnations, jasmine and orange blossoms. Floral samples: Gucci Rush 2, Ange ou Demon Tendre by Givenchy, HUGO XX, Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male, Versace Bright Crystal.

Oriental - this is a good scent for the winter due to its strong musky nature it is a
mixture of spices, amber, balsams and resins. Oriental samples: Armani Code, Euphoria Intense by Calvin Klein, Escada Moon Sparkle.

Citrus- these are soft subtle fragrances that are best when used in the summer time.
The scents derive from citrus fruits, like lemon, limes, tangerine and mandarins. Citrus Samples: Ck One, Burberry Summer, Allure Homme Sport by Chanel, 212 Men on Ice by Carolina Herrera .

Green- when you think green, think of grassy, pine, leaves or anything you may

Fougere- is a strong scent mostly used by men, but women also love this smell.

Why do perfumes smell different on different people? - People with dry skin usually find their fragrance holding time shorter than those with oily skin because oily skin has more natural moisture to hold in the fragrance. pH levels (amount of acidity in our skin) also varies slightly from person to person. Our individual levels of pH will determine how each ingredient in a fragrance will react. How can I make my scent last longer? - Fragrance lasts longer on some people than on others because of differences in our skin (oily or dry) and in our pH levels. To achieve a longer affect, try layering your fragrance. Using the fragrance bath gel, (if the company offers one), then the moisturizer or powder, and then the EDT, EDP, or EDC, will usually have a longer lasting effect. Also, apply your fragrance low on the body, as well as behind your ears and on your neck, so that the scent rises and you wont lose it as quickly. A light spray on the hair can last all day. How can I keep my fragrance from going bad? - Keep all fragrance in a cool, dry area, and away from windows as sunlight can unbalance the various ingredients. An opened bottle should be kept in its box to insure a longer shelf life.

CONCENTRATIONS
Concentrations: A fragrance comes in four different levels of concentration. The higher the concentration, the more the price. They are as follows from least concentrated to most: Eau de Cologne (EDC) - this is the least concentrated amongst the four levels fragrance

lasts up to 2 hours Eau de Toilette (EDT) - this is more concentrated and most popular type. It lasts up to 2-3 hours. Eau de Parfum (EDP) - this is the second most concentrated type of fragrance that lasts up to 6 hours. Parfum de Toilette (PDT) - this is the second most concentrated type of fragrance that lasts up to 6 hours (same as EDP). Perfume or Parfum - this is the most highly concentrated type of fragrance that lasts all day with least application.
