Professor Aamir (Amer) Jalal Al
Mosawi as the Iraqi Doctor with highest
academic rank according to
International standards with more than
30 scientific publications registered by
the index.
Dr. Aamir (Amer) Jalal Al Mosawi, a native of
Baghdad , received his MBChB in Medicine
and surgery from Baghdad College of
Medicine in 1992. He took the highest
certificate in Pediatric (The doctorate-PhD) in
1998 and his thesis was in the field of
Nephrology. He took the highest certificate in
Pediatric in the Arabian region in 2000 the
Arabic Board Certificates of Pediatrics. He is
member of the American Academy of
Pediatrics since 2002. In 1998, he was senior
lecture in Pediatrics and became Professor and
head of the department of pediatrics and
Continuing medical education center the
University Hospital in Al Kadhimiyia in 2004.
Dr. Al Mosawi was the founder and president
of the Iraqi Society of Pediatric Nephrology
and the first International peer-reviewed Iraqi
medical journal early during the year 2005.He
was reviewer of many International peer-
reviewed medical journals. He is Fellow and
member of the clinical scientists Association
(USA),Member of the International Iraqi
World association Medical Editors (WAME),
Member Committee on Publication ethics
(COPE) London, and Member of the Advisory
Council of the International Association of
Medical Colleges.
He was the first to describe
1-The pattern of acute glomerulonephritis in
47 Iraqi children.
2-The etiology of chronic renal failure in 54
Iraqi children
3- The Spectrum of Renal Tubular Disorders
in Iraqi Children.
4- The first case of Coffin Siris syndrome in
the Arab, and an Iraqi variant of Lowe
syndrome.
One of his greatest scientific achievements
was the description of a new model for the
management of end-stage renal failure.
He also described a new therapy for refractory
vitamin D-resistant rickets, and for childhood
pediatric urolithiasis, and also for
achondroplasia. He also described a novel
association of “Idiopathic hyperuricosuria,
hypercalciuria and infantile renal stone
disease” and its therapeutic approach [.He was
one of few authors who described a severe
variant of Hinman syndrome [He described the
3rd series of Allen-Hinman syndrome], and
The Incidence of Ocular Abnormalities in
Childhood Chronic Renal Failure .He authored
few chapters in International medical books.
He is the reviewer of more than 10
International peer review medical journals.
