What is the Holy Ghost? 1
Firs t of all, He (The Holy G h os t ) is n o t an "it". He is t h e t h i r d person of t h e Trinity-The Fa the r, The Son a n d The H oly Ghost. 1 C o r in th i a n s I 2:4-6 defines t h e work of the D ivin e T rini ty as gifts by the Holy Spirit; a d m i n i s t r a t i o n s by Jesus Christ; a n d operations by GOD t h e Father. W h a t does t h e Holy Ghost do? A c t s 1:8 says, " B u t ye s h a l l receive power, a f t e r t h a t t h e H o l y Ghost is come up on you: a n d ye s h a l l be witnesses u n t o me." The scripture "ye shall be witnesses u n t o me" is s a y i n g t h a t t h e power of t h e Holy Ghost y o u w i l l be a b l e to l i v e in l i n e w i t h Gods Word. You w i l l be a b l e to l e t t h e l o v e of Jesus Christ show in y o u r life. Because of t h e H ol y Ghost, you will n o t be ashamed of Jesus Christ regardless of where you are or w h o you a r e w i t h . Y o u r life w i l l al wa ys be a witness for Jesus Christ. M a t t h e w 10:32-33 says, " I f y o u w i l l n o t confess me b e f o r e m en , I w i l l n o t confess y o u before my F ath er ". It is i mpossib le for you to be effective witness for C h r i s t w i t h o u t t h e power of t h e Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost is a Promise from God 1. Acts 1:4-5 Jesus gave instructions to his disciples saying, "Wait for the promise of the Father, which saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized w i t h water; b u t ye shall be baptized wi th the Holy Ghost n o t many days hence." J o h n 14:25-26 Jesus says, "These t h i n g s have I spoken u n t o you, being yet present w i t h you. B u t t h e Comforter, w h i c h is t h e Holy Ghost w h o m t h e Father w i l l send in my name, he shall teach you a l l things, a n d bring all things to y o u r r e m e m b r a n c e , whatsoever I have said u n t o you."
2. Luke 11:11-13 Jesus says, if a son shall ask bread of a n y of y ou t h a t is a father, w i l l he give h i m a stone? Or if he a s k s a fish, w i l l he give h i m a serpent? Or if he s h a l l ask an egg, w i l l he offer h i m a scorpion? If ye t h e n being evil kn o w how to give good gifts u n t o y o u r c h i l d r e n ; how m u c h more sh all y o u r heavenly Fa the r give t h e Holy Spirit to t h e m t h a t ask h i m ? 3. Acts 2:33 says, "Therefore b e i n g by t h e r i g h t h a n d of GOD exalted, a n d having received of t h e F ath er the promise of t h e Holy Ghost, He h a t h shed forth this, w h i c h ye now see a n d hear." Acts 2:38-39 states " t h e n Peter said u n t o t h e m , R ep en t, a n d be baptized every one of y o u in t h e n a m e of Jesus Chr ist for t h e remissions of sins, a n d ye s h a l l receive t h e gift of t h e Holy Ghost. For t h e promise is u n t o you, a n d y o u r c h i l d r e n , a n d to all that a r e a f a r off, even as m a n y as t h e Lord o u r GOD shall call.
