2/3 Benchmark at GVS

Grades Have Been Updated in French 2ab as of midnight 2/3

The benchmark was Friday, 2/3 at midnight. I have graded all of the work that has been turned in prior to that time. I have not graded work turned in this weekend or Monday but should do so before 5 pm today, 2/7. Students may still turn in assignments for partial credit until Friday, 2/10 at midnight, losing one letter grade for each day that it is late. Please check your grades.

How Can Parents Check Grades? There are two documents that all parents need to review: 1- How to set up a parent audit account. This document gives direction on how parents can create an account at GVS. Please see http://db.tt/zylppMOI 2- How to see your student's grades in detail. This document tells you how to navigate GVS website and see all of the assignments that your student has turned in and their corresponding grade. Please see: http://db.tt/ddVMCSQ1 Changes to the Course It is very important that student read the announcements on the course homepage. There are a few changes to the content, mostly in the directions for the writing and speaking assignments. The criture assignments include three items due to the designated drop box: The completed graphic organizer The final composition The peer review form completed as a self assessment. All three items must be turned in to the criture drop box for full credit. Students do NOT have to complete a draft nor do they need to submit a draft to the discussion forum. For detailed directions and help with the conversation assignment students can login in and watch the recording of a recorded help session. Students do NOT have to complete a pre- conversation nor do they need to submit a pre- conversation to the discussion forum. Only they final conversation. Students are welcome to work ahead of the course schedule. However, it is very important that students complete assignments in the order that they are listed on the schedule. In other words, students may not skip assignments. The course is designed to build on prior lessons. If students skip lessons, they will be unlikely to succeed in future exercises.

Keys to Student Success

Students should:

Spend at least 6 hours a week online completing assignments for this course. Print out and follow the schedule deadlines. Log in, check e-mails, check instructor feedback and complete assignments EVERY DAY Attend the weekly synchronous sessions Ask questions and communicates with the teacher frequently by e-mail and pager. Carefully complete the content and all the ungraded, embedded activities. Open House Georgia Virtual School will have a school-wide Open House on the following evenings at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012
The space for each Open House is limited. We ask everyone to join the Open House using only ONE computer at your home. If the session is full, the recording will be posted within the learning management system and you will have an opportunity to review the recording OR attend another upcoming meeting.
