Why aren't we capable of knowing the full truth of what is in someone's heart? Define forbearance. When we continue to turn our backs on the Lord are we taking advantage of His patience? What keeps us from repentance? If we have an unrepentant heart, what will happen to us on judgment day? Do we really know what is in a persons heart? Why does God show kindness, restraint, and patience towards us? What is the reward for those who are persistent in doing good? What is the consequence for those who are self seeking and disobey God's laws? What will happen to those who sinned without the law? (The law is the Holy Spirit.) How will believer of the law be judged for their sin? In v.16 it tells us that God will judge everyone according to what is on their heart. Everybody sins. No one follows God's word to a t. and then live a life that isn't in line with what we preach, can the non-believer truly take us seriously? Go through v. 21-23 and discuss these questions in a group, or answer them in a journal. III. Circumcision Of the Heart (v. 25-29) a) Being a believer begins in your heart. Fancy robes, cross necklaces, or in this case circumcision means nothing if you don't hold the law in your heart. Once the law is in your heart you will begin to live the law out. Is the law written in your heart? If it isn't, what can you do to move towards God and not the world?

Additional Discussion Topic: Talk about what it meant to the Jewish people to be circumcised. Talk about what a covenant is and why circumcision is a covenant. Talk about the new covenant through the blood of Jesus Christ.
