CEQA Guidelines Update for Infill Streamlining (SB 226) The Governors Office of Planning and Research is pleased to solicit your input on proposed additions to the Guidelines for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA Guidelines). This proposal reflects the direction in SB 226 (Simitian, 2011) to prepare additions to the CEQA Guidelines setting forth a streamlined review process for infill projects. This proposal also contains the performance standards that will be used to determine an infill projects eligibility for that streamlined formance review. Workshop Dates and Locations Sacramento February 21, 2012 1:00 pm Cal/EPA Headquarters Building Sierra Hearing Room, 2nd Floor 1001 I Street Sacramento, CA 95814 Workshop Content Staff will provide an overview of the proposed CEQA Guidelines update, introduce the performance standards and discuss next steps in the rulemaking process. An opportunity will be provided for public input on the preliminary discussion draft. Time limits may be placed on oral comments to ensure that all persons wishing to comment have an opportunity within the available time for the workshop. OPR requests but does not require that persons who make oral comments at the hearing also submit a written copy of their testimony at the hearing. Webcast Information The meeting on February 21, 2012, will be webcast for those unable to attend in person. The broadcast can be accessed on the day of the workshop at http://www.calepa.ca.gov/broadcast/. Information on . submitting questions or comments will be provided during the webcast for remote participants.
