CONCLUSION The Qualification Paper has treated the specific features of the English word-stock.

The methods of vocabulary study have emerged from practical concern, especially those of foreign language teaching, dictionary-making and so on. Thus, the aim of the Paper was to analyze and study the words under the investigation. When used in actual speech words occur in different forms generally referred to as wordforms, thus a word exists in the language not only as a system of all its meanings but also as a system and unity of all its word-forms. The study of words concerning with vocabulary of a language showed that every language has its own way of development. We tried to present our Paper in two chapters, i.e. theoretical and practical. Theoretical part dealt with growing importance of lexicology as an object of study, types of dictionaries, etymology of words and so on. The practical part dealt with analyses of parts of speech and words under the investigation. We established charts in order to clarify our research on this point. We gave some bright examples in it. Due to the specific historical development of English, it has adopted many words from other languages, especially from Latin, French and Old Scandinavian, though the number and importance of these borrowings are usually overestimated. In supplement we gave the list of words concerning with SIMPLE CHANGE with their translations. Thus we came to conclusion that: two main types of word-meaning are grammatical and the lexical meanings found in all words. The interrelation of these two types of meaning may be different in different groups of words. Lexical meaning is viewed as possessing denotation and connotation components. Analyses of the linguistic material give clear understanding of words

The innovation of the Paper is determined by the concrete results of the research.
