A Night out for an early Valentine's Day

Earlier this month when I asked my wife if she wanted to do something for Valentine's Day, she told me two things. First, she said that she didn't believe a whole lot in Valentine's Day, because doing things like going out to eat, or saying "I love you" should be spontaneous and not prompted by a holiday. Second, she said that if we were going to go out on a date then I needed to work out the details and then just take her someplace that night. The photo I posted to my profile that Saturday was taken after Theresa and I got back from dinner out with the kids. In the photo, Theresa is looking at her Kindle Fire, and I'm using my Apple iPad. The photo was actually our daughter's idea. We just happened to be sitting on the couch just messing around with our different electronic devices when she suddenly begged me to give her my phone so she could snap a picture. I guess we looked "cute," or something. Kayla and Josh had spent the early part of the evening at the house of one of Kayla's friends. Their mother had agreed to watch our kids so that Theresa and I could go out to dinner by ourselves. We ended up eating at Ruby Tuesday's and enjoyed conversation without interruptions.

We had some extra time after dinner so we watched the first half of "Breaking Dawn, Part 1." After the kids were in bed we watched the second half. Overall, I had a good time and it was an excellent change for the two of us to spend some quality time together.
