To: PRESENT AND PASS JUNETEENTH PARTCIPANTS, J.E.T.M.A.C., Inc., is pleased to announce the celebration of the 10th Year Anniversary of the California National Juneteenth Freedom Day Observance Bill (SB812), at the 10th Annual Juneteenth Day Reception. This event is also the kickoff for the 11th Year Anniversary of Sacramento State Juneteenth Day Festival in William Land Park, Fri., June 15th Sat. June 16th, 2012, with over 3,000 attendees. This historic celebration is when President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, in 1863, freeing all man born on the American soil. The last people (slaves) to find out they were freed, lived in Galveston, Texas, 2 years later, now called Juneteenth - (June 19, 1865). We shall reflect on the struggles and sacrafices made by African Americans to become American citizens. Juneteenth represents Freedom, Justice, Equality, Free Enterprise, American Unity and a chance to obtain the American Dream. We were honored last year (2011,) to have as our guest speaker, the Great, Great, Great Grandson of Frederick Douglas, (Mr. Kenneth Morris Jr.). Who is also the great, great grandson of Booker T. Washington. The Juneteenth Day Reception is in collaboration with the Sacramento Visitors Bureau and Cultural Arts Center. Our events are always free and open to the public. June is also Black Music Month, signed into legistature in 2001, by President George Bush, to recognize the great musical contributions made by African Americans in the music industry. In addition to our Juneteenth celebration, we honor the great music of Jazz Muscians, and vaious music artist. We invite your sponsorship to enable us to invite special guest artist like Mr. Stevie Wonder, and other celebrity freedom movement guest as our special guest for the June 2012 event. Sponsorship opportunities are available for this worthy event. Attached is the Sponsorship Package detailing the information for the events. We ask that you become a partner with J.E.T.M.A.C, and become a monetary and/or in-kind service sponsor for this event. Your support is greatly appreciated.
