BRIEF HISTORY Green Lung is a youth grass root organization, advocating a tobacco-free environment in campus and community. It was initiated by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) students in May, 2009. The name of Green Lung was first officially used in July 2009. USM Green Lung is now the official collaborating partner and youth clearinghouse for tobacco control of IPSF (International Pharmaceutical Student Federation) in Asia Pacific region. Even though Green Lung was pioneered in USM, 4 other campuses share the same vision and join up our force to fight for a tobacco-free environment. Today we have formed a big family of Green Lung Which Includes: 1) Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) 2) Universiti Malaya (UM)

Mini Campaign ~ Person-in-charge: Tan Loong Hui (0125427814)

Participants will be divided into 4 big groups where they will travel to 4 smoke free areas in Melaka (Melaka Town and 3 others places) to carry out Mini Campaign under the guidance of facilitators and committees. The activities to be carried out:
i.

Mini Project: Participants will be given a project title relating to tobacco control issues in which they have to plan out the methodology and approach the public for information to complete the project. They will then analyse and sum up the information obtained. Groups will then be selected for presentation on their mini project to the public. Concurrently the teams are in a competition-mode where each team has to compete with one another to collect cigarettes and signatures from the smokers at the same time have to explain to the smokers the hazards of smoking and if possible, provide them some aids or tips to quit smoking.

ii. Flash Mob: Participants are free to plan on any stunts they would like

to do to as long as they achieve the purposes of attracting the publics attention to smoke free issues.
iii. Survey: Participants will be given/plan their own survey questions to

assess publics opinion and perception.

iv. Awareness: Participants will be given materials, i.e. white cloth,

The coordinator should prepare a chart showing the flow of Green Lung Kopitiam while briefing the participants on the concept. Participant should be advised to pay full attention to each topic present and share as they will be the presenter in the following rounds. Third step ~ Break the ice The facilitator will break the barrier amongst participant and get them to know each other. The participant should be notified that they have to pay attention to the topic presented as they themselves will be the presenter for the next round. Fourth step ~Speak and listen

The facilitator will first present the topic or issues and the participants listen to what is being shared. Fifth step ~ Ask At the end of the presentation, participants are encouraged to voice out any questions regarding the topic or issues. The discussion will be facilitated by the facilitators. Sixth step ~Next round-rotation to the next presentation
