Whenourkidsseenewslikethis,itcanbeveryunsettling.Thereareanumberofquestions thatarisefromsuchevents,butfornow,trytofocusthediscussiononGodsHoliness. Herearesomepointstokeepinmind. BecauseGodisPerfectandClean(Holy),HecreatedtheworldPerfectandClean. AdamandEvedidnthavetoworryaboutearthquakes,tsunamisorothernatural disasters. Whatsthebiggestdifferencebetweenthosewho acceptJesusasSaviorandthosewhodont? Whydoesitmatter?
Kidscomeupwithalotofanswerstothisquestionanditsimportanttoletthemsharetheir thoughts.However,becausewerefocusingonGodsHolinessthismonth,wewanttoguide thediscussiontowardthatattribute. Theshortansweris: ThosewhoacceptJesusasSaviorareforgivenoftheirsin(washedcleanandmade holyinGodseyes),sotheycanhavearelationshipwithGodnowandinHeaven. Colossians1:22says: YetnowHehasreconciledyoutoHimselfthoughthedeathofChristinHisphysicalbody. Asaresult,HehasbroughtyouintoHisownpresence,andyouareholyandblameless asyoustandbeforeHimwithoutasinglefault,(NLT). ThosewhodonotacceptJesusasSaviorarenotforgivenfortheirsinsandsothey cannothavearelationshipwithGod,noworinHeaven. John3:16says: ForGodlovedtheworldsomuchthatHegaveHisoneandonlySon,sothateveryone whobelievesinHimwillnotperishbuthaveeternallife,(NLT).

HaveyouheardpeopletalkaboutwaystogettoHeaven besidesacceptingJesusasSavior? WhyisJesustheONLYway?
AlotofpeoplethinktheycanbegoodenoughtogettoHeaven.Othersthinkthatthereare manywaystogettoHeavenandthatJesusisjustoneofthoseways.Ifeitherofthoseideas weretrue,thenGodcannotbeHoly;andifGodisntHoly,thenGodisntGod! Eventhebestofusarentperfect.Allofushavesinned(eventhepeoplewhothink theyrereally,reallygoodarentperfect).Apenaltymustbepaidandwecantpayit.If thepenaltyisntpaidthenwecantbeinHeavenwithGodbecauseHeisPerfectand Holy.OursinwouldruinHeavenitwouldntbeperfectanymore.

WhatacruelGodHewouldbeifHesentJesustodieahorribledeathonthecrossto payforoursinsandthensaidthatthereareotherwaysthepenaltycouldbepaid.If GodwerethatcrueltoJesus,thenHewouldntbePerfectlyLovingorHoly! Hebrews10:1214says: OurHighPriestofferedHimselftoGodasasinglesacrificeforsins,goodforalltime. ThenHesatdownintheplaceofhonoratGod'srighthand.ThereHewaitsuntilHis enemiesarehumbledandmadeafootstoolunderHisfeet.ForbythatoneofferingHe forevermadeperfectthosewhoarebeingmadeholy,(NLT).
