Course Description: Provide students basic information on sounds and digital audio; and concepts and principles of video. Establish skills in editing and modifying sound and audio as regards to the amplitude, pitch, frequency, tempo, channels, and sound resolution. And provide students basic knowledge in editing and applying effects to a digital video. Students are expected to produce a cohesive movie or video production with the integration of their skills and ability in audio or sound editing and applying digital video effects. Major Competency: Show technical ability and skills in audio and video editing by conceptualizing and producing own or self-composed movie or video through the use of some audio and video editing software. General Objectives: Audio Editing: Understands audio and/or sound fundamentals and concepts Create a remix - an alternative version of a song, different from the original version. Record an audible and clear voice voice recording; and other sound or audio. Modify sound or audio properties such as the amplitude, pitch, tempo, frequency, sound resolution and/or channels. Integrate effects on the recorded audio or voice. Produce an audio drama or audio presentation. Video Editing: Understands video fundamentals and concepts Compile video clips with corresponding audio Apply video effects and other editing techniques. Incorporate edited audio clips or files learned from the previous lesson to video Compose a cohesive movie or video production. Audio and Video Editing 3 units Course No: Prerequisite: 6AVEDIT

COURSE OUTLINE Learning Targets I. Learn audio and sounds concepts and principle 1. Apply Audio and Sounds concepts in Adobe Audition 2. Know the standard sound resolution. 3. Differentiate and identify sound properties and characteristics II. Create original remix by editing audio files and applying audio effects 1. Learn Adobe Audition Interface for easy navigation of the software 2. Create Channel for Stereo or for Voice Recording Mono 3. Use the standard sound or audio resolution 4. Compiling audio clips or files 5. Creating remix 6. Producing a more refined and more quality sound or audio file Content Outline I. Introduction to Audio and Audio Editing 1. Principles and concepts of Audio and Sound waves. 2. Bit depth and Sample rates in the resolution of sounds. 3. Properties or characteristics of sounds such as pitch, amplitude, tempo, frequency and sound levels. II.
