ORDINANCE NO. _______ AN ORDINANCE COMPREHENSIVELY AMENDING TITLES 1-8 AND 10 OF THE ISLAND LAKE VILLAGE CODE ________________________________________________________________ WHEREAS, the Village of Island Lake, Lake and McHenry Counties, Illinois, is an Illinois municipal corporation; and WHEREAS, in December of 2009, the Village Board approved a comprehensive amendment to Title 9 of the Village Code, the Villages zoning ordinance; and WHEREAS, subsequently, the Village Board determined that a complete rewrite of the remaining titles of the Village Code consisting of Titles 1-8, and 10, was necessary and appropriate to bring the Village Code into compliance with recent legislative enactments and to modify various provisions to reflect current policies and practices of the Village Board; and WHEREAS, the Ordinance Committee reviewed and considered the proposed amendments to the Village Code and recommended in favor of the adoption of the proposed amendments to the Village Code; and WHEREAS, the Village Board then reviewed the proposed amendments to the Village Code at its regular meetings on February 23, 2012 and March 8, 2012; and WHEREAS, the Village Board of the Village of Island Lake finds and determines that the proposed amendments to the Village Code are desirable and in the best interests of the Village and its residents, as more fully described in this Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Island Lake, Lake and McHenry Counties, Illinois, as follows: Section 1. reference. The above stated recitals are incorporated into this Ordinance by

Section 2. Titles 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 of the Village Code are hereby deleted in their entirety and replaced with new Titles 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10, all attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit A. Section 3: In the event a conflict between the terms of this Ordinance and any other ordinance of the Village, the terms of this Ordinance shall govern. Section 4: In the event that any term or provision hereof is found or determined to be invalid, the invalid portion shall be deemed stricken here from and the remainder shall be in full force and effect. Section 5: and approval. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
