Prole: Michel Gagne Michel Gagne is a Canadian cartoonist

best known for his highly unusual art style. While capable of realism, he specializes in creatures with wildly exaggerated and unexpected features, such as monsters with mouths larger than the rest of their bodies, wisps of black shadow, or things with liCledenite form apart from eye stalks and tendrils.

Gagne worked for Sullivan Bluth Studios for six years, working on such lms as The Land Before Time and All Dogs Go to Heaven.

I take inspiraMon whenever or wherever it presents itself, be it personal stories, literature, music, comics, movies, televisions etc These days, I nd a lot of inspiraMons in Science-FicMon literature. Writers like B R Bruss, Jack Williamson, H G Wells, LovecraV, Philip Wylie are all great storytelling inspiraMons.

Gagne has been recognized by his peers with a BAFTA (BriMsh Academy Award), an Annie Award (AnimaMon's Highest Honor), and has received numerous prizes and nominaMons from the animaMon, video game and comics industries. He conMnues to create animaMon, special eects and concepts for companies all over the world.

Gagne doesn't restrict his art to animaMon only, he believes that any medium is a form of art and its worth exploring. He animated to music, sound eects and soundtracks, he produce visual abstract pieces. Years later this type of was used in a couple of sequences in Ratatouille where Gagne animated the visualizaMon sequence to feel the taste.

Gagne is also a comic book arMst and sculptor.
