The airline requires its maintenance staff to obtain CAA maintenance licenses. What category should they apply for, and where can they find the relevant information?
1. According to the Civil Aviation Act, the airman shall be certified and issued with a professional license and certificate of rating. The certificates and license shall be carried with the airman when performing his duty. 2. According to the Regulation Governing the Licenses and Ratings for Airmen, the applicant for a mechanic license and professional certificate must be over 21 years old, and produce documents to show that he/she meets any of the following qualifications: i. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or electronic engineering with 2 years practical maintenance experience in aviation mechanics or communications electronics.

3. The Vocational Training Center of CIT is an approved training institute. Please contact the Center regarding training information. 4. The CAA has published reference materials for the mechanic practical examination. Please contact the CAA Shop ( 2F of the Song-Shan airport 2nd terminal) to purchase such material. An examination question database is currently under construction. Writing examinations for the mechanic license are held on a monthly basis. An applicant may take the technical practical examination only after passing the writing examination. The technical practical examination is held twice a week.
