North Bay CUE 2425 Jefferson Street, Napa, CA 94558

Peg Maddocks NapaLearns PO Box 7057 Napa, CA 94558 Dear Peg, North Bay CUE is excited to present the 2nd Annual ConnectU Conference! The conference will be held on May 12th at New Tech High School. This is an opportunity for educators in the North Bay to attend high caliber workshops that provide 21st century skills and learning. We would like to request a sponsorship from NapaLearns to send ten teachers from Napa County to this local conference.

North Bay CUE has invited Courtney Cadwell, an original Khan Academy pilot teacher in Los Altos School district, to present the blended learning model used by the Los Altos School District to implement the Khan Academy Program in math classrooms district-wide. This program was showcased on 60 minutes last week. There are also four iPad classes that include the iPad in Project Based Learning, Special Education and the iPad for beginners. There are also sessions that will teach how to integrate Web 2.0 tools to flip the classroom. With a sponsorship from NapaLearns, we believe that North Bay CUE will provide much needed professional development for educators in Napa County. Our selection process will be an application that includes a mandatory classroom lesson or activity that can be published in the NapaLearns newsletter.

North Bay CUE looks forward to partnering with NapaLearns to bring high quality professional development to Napa County. Please let me know if you need any additional information. Attached is additional information regarding North Bay CUE and conference information.

Best,

Michele Dawson

Affiliate Name Change from Wine Country Cue to North Bay CUE! We are proud to announce that we have officially changed the name of our CUE affiliate to North Bay CUE! We have expanded the affiliate to include Marin and join our member counties of Solano, Sonoma and Napa. As you may be aware, some of our districts filter out the word wine in both email and websites and therefore some constituents were unable to access information from our organization. The name change should also be a celebration of the character, strength, and diversity in our region. The Wine Country CUE affiliate voted to become North Bay CUE in October and was ratified by the CUE board in January. Please join us as we welcome Marin to North Bay CUE and usher in an exciting new era of engaging educators 21st Century teaching and learning.
