Integration American Agency for Public University System that promotes the development of universities through cooperation and joint work with society and the state. Member of the Central American Integration System (SICA) Currently consists of 19 public universities in Central America and Dominican Republic
Its governing body is the Central American University Superior Council (CSUCA), composed of the Rectors and Presidents of the student unions of universities that form.

Its executive body is the General Secretariat of CSUCA (SGCSUCA), based in Guatemala.

CSUCA Harmonization Agreements LXXXVIII Ordinary Meeting, El Salvador, 24 and 25 September 2009 (1):

Central strategies of the harmonization process:

a) Definition of basic general aspects of higher education as a common reference for Central America such as: nomenclature of degrees and titles, definition of credit, length of curriculum for certification, regulation of academic load for students and glossary terms. b) Definition of basic elements of the curriculum of specific courses that serve as reference for the region's universities to align curricula (competency reference) and the promotion of regional academic programs. c) Improving the transparency of qualifications (degrees and diplomas) awarded by university colleges in the region, through actions such as issuing the diploma supplement to the university and the establishment and development of the Regional Information System on Higher Education Central, SIRESCA . d) Convention recognition, equality and mutual recognition of studies, degrees and college degrees among member universities CSUCA. e) Establishment of a regional academic mobility program.

Establishment of the Regional Allocation and Credit Transfer, American common nomenclature of degrees and diplomas of higher education, regional definition of the duration or extent of the curriculum by titration. Issuing the Diploma Supplement or a college degree that briefly describes the basic features of the curriculum of the race. Establishment of Regional Information System on Higher Education Central SIRESCA. Approval of the text of the proposal for a Regional Convention for the recognition of studies, diplomas, degrees and qualifications between member universities CSUCA.

Establishment of a Regional Academic Mobility and Student actions starting with small-scale mobility of resources from the same university members and which can be obtained from cooperating agencies for specific actions of mobility within and outside the region. Delegation of SICEVAES (degree) and the SICAR (graduate), with coordination of the SG-CSUCA for the monitoring of strategies, actions and academic goals for regional harmonization, as defined in the agreement. Establishment of a Commission member universities support, monitoring and encouraging the harmonization process.

Promotion and awareness to members of the university community about the need for harmonization Making strategic alliances that facilitate and support the process of harmonization and regional academic mobility, institutions and national, regional and international. Resource management and modification of the regulatory frameworks for universities to realize the harmonization and academic mobility in the region. Implementation of measures necessary for the implementation of the proposed issue in the Central American Integration to join in the races of the member universities, with the gradual and flexible criteria, according to the characteristics and circumstances of each university and each discipline or career to train future professionals in the region with Central and identity and vision to take firm steps to the recognition of American citizenship.
