How plants obtain their energy?

Presented by: Juan David Guevara Reyes Plants obtain their energy by a process called photosynthesis. This process is basically based in transforming the energy of sunlight in food for plants. The plants collect this energy from sunlight and turn this into a type of sugar called glucose. Glucose is the main source of nutrition for plants, fueling their cells for function and growth. Its not a secret that plants use their roots to drink up water from the soil. The water travels from the roots to the plants leaves through a transport tissue called xylem. Meanwhile, leaves absorb carbon dioxide from the air through openings called stomata. The water and carbon dioxide spread through the leaves into cells called the palisade and spongy cells. This cells contained structures called chloroplasts, which are filled with a green pigment called chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is what makes plants green. In photosynthesis, the chlorophyll gets energy from sunlight, storing it as chemical energy. This process splits water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen atoms. The chemical energy is used to create glucose from the hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The glucose dissolves into extra water molecules and gives the plants plenty of food for growth. The leaves release oxygen as a waste product.

All this process of photosynthesis is made by sun, but then how plants of deep Dark Ocean like the seaweed get their energy if the sun cant arrive till there? So I investigate, and I found that the plants that live in the deep dark ocean obtain their energy of the wave power. This wave power is principal described by the water movements, where those plants obtain their energy in every time that the ocean moves, its very similar to the wind energy because when the wind mills that spin they get energy.

This process makes us understand why plants are so important for us because they give more air to the place where we live, our school, our neighborhood, the

city In conclusion, the plants absorb our carbon dioxide and give us oxygen. We inhale the oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide back into the air.

I think humans should respect and take care about the beautiful plants and trees that our planet offers. We should work on preventing new destruction for our green part of the planet and make all people around us realize the importance it has for human beings not only with our words but also with our example. Healing the world is part of our duties now as new generations that would like a greener and balanced planet.
