As I introduce each Knuffle Bunny story, students will record their

Reading
Introduce Mo Willems and Caldecott Medals. Allow students to award one of their favorite books a Distinguished Book Award. Read Knuffle Bunny and complete character analysis.

Writing
Take a picture walk of Knuffle Bunny Free and discuss Mo Willems unique illustrations. Introduce Dialogue while reading Knuffle Bunny Free. Students create Mo inspired art with speech bubbles. Choose setting and illustrate characters.

Math
Bunny Theme Work Stations 1: Time- Analog to Digital and Written Form 2: Story Problems- Solve the chick addition/subtraction problems 3. Coins- Match coins to their values 4. Number Sense- Skip counting eggs by 4's 5. Double Digit- Bunny Double Digit Addition.

Science
Read Easter Bunny Assistant. Students will use their sense of smell to identify 6 common scents and record answers on corresponding response sheet.

Monday

Tuesday

Math Work Stations for the week are from Doodle Bugs and The Inspired Apple.

Introduce Cause and Effect while reading Knuffle Bunny Too. After reading,, math Knuffle Bunny Too cause and effects.

After all books have been read and discussed, students will respond to literature by writing about a time theyve lost or misplaced an item. Students will follow up with a Lost Poster after writing is complete.

Discuss if you can dye eggs with koolaid. Record thoughts! Reread Easter Bunny Assistant. Follow steps in book while recording steps in a mini book. Allow eggs to sit and record data for each color.

Students will follow up with a glyph as a response to reading Knuffle Bunny series.

Students will create Bunny and Skunk Hat!


Wednesday

Read Last One in is a Rotten Egg by Diane. Determine which character shows the most change. In response to the story, students will write about a good egg from our class and why.

Introduce Jan Brett and discuss the borders in her book through a picture walk. Read The Easter Egg, allow students to respond by retelling details and creating a winning Easter egg.

Discuss the importance of calcium. Explain eggs are a source of calcium. Determine whether flowers will grow better in an egg shell or egg carton. Students will record their answers!
