COURSE DESIGN COURSE TITLE NOMINAL DURATION : : PACU/CRE 320 Hours NC II

QUALIFICATION LEVEL : COURSE DESCRIPTION :

This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes and skills of RAC Services in accordance with industry standards. It covers specialized competencies such as; Install service and maintain, troubleshoot, recover and recycle, repair and retrofit PACU and CRE units COURSE OUTCOMES: Upon completion of the course, the trainees/students must be able to: 1. Prepare for the installation of PACU/ CRE 2. Install components of PACU /CRE system 3. Test run PACU /CRE system 4. Prepare piping requirements 5. Install bracket and support 6. Lay-out PACU / CRE piping 7. Perform pipe joint 8. Insulate refrigerant / chilled water piping 9. Lay- out electrical system 10. Install power supply wiring, controls & protective devices 11. Test run electrical system 12. Check and adjust air-conditioning and refrigeration components, controls and operating condition 13. Maintain lubrication system in PACU /CRE 14. Maintain refrigerant system in PACU /CRE 15. Maintain secondary heat transport equipment in PACU / CRE 16. Maintain air distribution system in PACU /CRE 17. Maintain electrical system 18. Plan and prepare for troubleshooting a package air conditioning / commercial refrigeration 19. Troubleshoot electrical system 20. Troubleshoot mechanical system 21. Test unit performance 22. Assess unit for recovery /recycling 23. Set up equipment for recovery /recycling 24. Perform refrigerant recovery/Recycling 25. Assess unit for repair / retrofit 26. Repair / Replace defective components of PACU /CRE 27. Perform refrigerant retrofitting process 28.
