MAGNETIC POWER GENERATION

Introduction:A magnet is a material or object that produces a magnetic field. This magnetic field is invisible but is responsible for the most notable property of a magnet i.e. attraction and repulsion. A permanent magnet is an object made from a material that is magnetized and creates its own persistent magnetic field.

A very common source of magnetic field shown in nature is a dipole, with a "South pole" and a "North pole". A magnetic field contains energy, and physical systems move toward configurations with lower energy.

When diamagnetic material is placed in a magnetic field, a magnetic dipole tends to align itself in opposed polarity to that field, thereby lowering the net field strength. When ferromagnetic material is placed within a magnetic field, the magnetic dipoles align to the applied field, thus expanding the domain walls of the magnetic domains Energy is a scalar physical quantity that is an attribute of objects and systems that is conserved in nature. In physics textbooks energy is often defined as the ability to do work or to cause change. Several different forms of energy exist to explain all known natural phenomena. These forms include (but are not limited to) kinetic, potential, thermal, gravitational, sound, light, elastic and electromagnetic energy. Any form of energy can be transformed into another form, but the total energy always remains the same.

Problem statement:India currently relies heavily on coal, oil and natural gas for its energy. Fossil fuels are non renewable, that is they draw on finite resources that will eventually dwindle, becoming too expensive or too environmentally damaging to retrieve. In contrast, renewable energy

resources such as wind and solar energy are constantly replenished and will never run out.

Renewable energy provides many important benefits including: Environmental benefits. Energy for the future. Jobs and the economy. Energy security.
The world has realized that the basic cause of energy crisis is not the scarcity but just the lack of knowledge and limitation of the nature. Thus the world has developed new sources of energy which are inexhaustible. Today renewable and alternative energy sources are set to play an increasingly important role in providing the electricity, heat, cooling and fuels that society needs. Many new innovation or breakthroughs in energy field is coming up so that those energies can be produced and used efficiently causing no threat to the nature and make the world a better place to live. The two main forms of energy are Kinetic energy and Potential energy. Kinetic energy is energy of motion this may include waves of electrons, atoms,

molecules, substances, and objects that may be moving in a constant speed. Potential energy is stored energy of gravitational energy. There are many forms of potential and kinetic energy. Potential energy can be transformed to kinetic energy, and vice versa.

Aim of the project: To design and fabricate the foot step mechanism by which foot stamping will collapse for some depth which makes the magnetic driver to swivel. To design and fabricate the magnetic driver to drive the magnetic driven disc to rotate by repulsion and connect the magnetic driver with the link. To design and make the DC generator to generate the electricity by the rotations of the magnetic disc which is stored in the battery supporting the CFL bulb to glow.

Working methodology:When a person steps on this mechanized foot step below which rack and pinion mechanism is built, it will cushion down by approximately 20mm which thereby pushes down effecting the driver disc to rotate which is holding the main magnet, rotation to certain angle making the

driven disc magnets to face away from the driver disc magnet. The driven disc magnets are mounted on the disc in such a way that they repel away from the main magnet. The position is in the curvature starting from the extreme outside diameter and fixed in line in continuity reaching the inner diameter. The end of the each magnet faces the driver magnet to effect the repulsion ultimately making it to rotate creating the rotations. The driver magnet is partially rotating just pushing the facing magnet and returning back in the same path by the link mechanism which is connecting the driver disc and the driven disc. This is to position the driver magnet back in time to the first driven magnet when it faces the driver disc after completing the earlier rotation. This makes the driven disc to rotate continuously and the generator which is mounted on the driven disc rotates to generate power which is stored in the battery and connects the CFL bulb to glow.

Capacity of the device:In this model we are generating 6 to 8 voltage power which is stored in the battery which can be used for further.

Principle of Electrical Generator:It is based on the principle of production of dynamically (or motionally) induced e.m.f (Electromotive Force). Whenever a conductor cuts magnetic flux, dynamically induced e.m.f.

is produced in it according to Faraday's Laws of Electromagnetic Induction. This e.m.f. causes a current to flow if the conductor circuit is closed. Hence, the basic essential parts of an electric generator are : i. A magnetic field and ii. A conductor or conductors which can so move as to cut the flux.

Advantages: Drives with foot step stamping force. Cost is nil compared to the average prevailing cost of other drives. Expenditure on transmission of power may be negligible. Can be manufactured indigenously in different sizes. It is eco-friendly and pollution free. Can be used for various other useful purposes.

 Have tremendous potential to be used for various fields. Will make the people of the world less dependant on other sources of energy such as coal, oil, gas, wind energy, solar energy etc in near future. Will solve the energy problem of the world for all times to come.

Disadvantages
Accuracy to be maintained and the balancing is to be taken care. The lever setting has to be accurate to effect the propulsion of the poles and drive if not will get stuck, stopping the rotation.

Applications:This is a new type of concept which does not need any fuel or electricity but uses the normal actions which are carried and wasted, so can be adopted to generate electricity in a small way and can be used for various household gadgets. This technology can be used in all spheres of our daily life in an economical way.
