Year: 2006 - 2010 October 2005: Acquired Capital Bank and Marina bank via merger by absorption and completed integration within 60 days. December 2005: Netherlands Finance Company (FMO) $15million Investment in Access Bank listed on the NSE. February 2006: Appointed a Settlement Bank by the Central Bank of Nigeria. May 2006: The first Bank in Nigeria to receive $15 million Convertible investment from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), an arm of the World Bank. June 2006: Appointed Primary Dealer/Market Maker for Government Bonds by the Debt Management Office (DMO). June 2006: First Nigerian Bank to partner the IFC on the introduction of gender finance under the IFCs Gender Empower Programme August 2006: Launched first Nigerian Online car leasing service Auto online. November 2006: Access Bank launches Mpower, the Bank's flagship retail product. December 2006: Access Bank launches suite of Wealth Management products for HNI customers. January 2008: Successfully concluded 3rd Public Offer raising over 1Billion US Dollars (3.5 times oversubscribed). April 2009: 3rd Bank in Nigerian banking industry to adopt IRS Account reporting style in addition to GAAP. May 2009: 1st Nigerian Bank to voluntarily establish an Ombudsman Office. June 2009: Adoption of International Financial Reporting Standard. June 2009: Access Bank adopts Equator principle for CSR. June 2009: The Access Bank UK Limited wins Adams Smith Award for Best Practice and Innovation. June 2009: Access Bank Plc signed the Convention on Business Integrity Treaty.
