Applications in prescribed format are invited from eligible candidates to appear ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION TO POST-GRADUATE COURSES IN ENGINEERING AND PHARMACY IN WBUT IN-HOUSE AND COLLEGES AFFLIATED TO WBUT (PGET-2011). Admission will be done through this entrance test . Information Brochure and application form can be downloaded from the University website (www.wbut.ac.in) from 25th May to 08th June. Application forms duly filled in are to be submitted to PGET office along with a bank draft of Rs. 500/-(Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/PC Candidates) from 25th May to 14th June. The examination will be conducted on 3rd of July. For further details please visit our website www.wbut.ac.in . Candidates who are qualified in GATE/GPAT need not appear for the test. However, they have to fill in the application form along with the bank draft of Rs. 500/-(Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/PC Candidates). ELLIGIBILITY FOR PGET-2011 The eligiblity to appear for PGET-2011: a candidate must be a citizen of India having the following qualifications: a)i)A relevant AICTE recognized Bachelors degree in Engineering / Technology/Architecture/ Pharmacy or in the final year* of such programmes. Course wise eligibility requirement is detailed in the following section. * candidates in final year if qualified may be given provisional admission provided that they have to submit their final mark sheet before some prescribed deadline as may be fixed by the PGET Board. Reservations for SC/ST/OBC/PC are as per rules. APPLICATION FORM Candidates intending to appear in PGET-2011 shall have to apply in the prescribed form available for download from the university website (www.wbut.ac.in) during the period 25TH MAY to 08TH JUNE 2011 both days inclusive. The application form is available in the university website only and will not be available from any office of the university.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM The dully filled in application form along with a self addressed envelope is to be submitted to the university PGET office addressed to the Chairman, PGET Board, West Bengal University of Technology, BF-142 , Sector-I , Salt Lake City, Kolkata 700 064. Application form can be submitted either by hand or can be sent through speed post. Submission of application form starts from 25th May and ends on 14th June, 2011 ( 11 A.M. TO 4.30 P.M.) The application form is to be submitted along with a bank draft of examination fee Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/PC Candidates) in favor of the Chairman, PGET Board, West Bengal University of Technology, drawn on any nationalized bank payable at Kolkata. Forms without the prescribed bank draft will not be entertained. There will be no refund of examination fee if the candidate does not appear in PGET-2011. ISSUE OF ADMIT CARDS After receipt of the dully filled in application form by the PGET Board forms will be reviewed and admit cards will be sent to candidates of valid forms informing the centre of examination. And the enrollment number. Issuance of Admit cards by speed post / courier starts from 20th of June, 2011. In case the candidate does not receive the admit card within 26th June, s/he should contact the PGET office at West Bengal University of Technology Campus, BF-142 , Sector-I , Salt Lake City, Kolkata 700 064 personally along with relevant documents of submission of application form with one copy of colour recent passport size photograph to collect his duplicate admit card from 27th June to 1st July ( 11 A.M. TO 4.30 P.M.), both days inclusive. DATE OF PGET-2011 AND PUBLICATION OF RESULTS The PGET-2011 examination will be held on 3rd July , 2011 from 10.30 A.M. and the merit list will be published on 14th July , 2011. The merit list will be valid for the academic year 2011-12 of West Bengal University of Technology. there is no provision of post publication scrutiny or review and such communications will not be entertained. Details of the PGET scorecard will be available in the University Website at the time of publication of results.

ELIGIBILTY: B.E/B.TECH IN ANY BRANCH OF ENGINEERING /TECHNOLOGY

In case where B.E. / B.Tech in any branch of Engineering / Technology or equivalent qualification is eligible (Such as 'Industrial Engineering & Management' [IEM] or 'Multimedia and Software Systems'[MLSE]) the following is applicable: If any candidates has not studied a course at B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent level for which corresponding examination paper code has been listed in the brochure, the candidate should do the following: In the application form where Paper Code has to be filled in, write ADDITIONAL (*) . Write the name of the course such as 'Polymer Technology', 'Metallurgical Engineering' etc. in place of asterisk [* ] mark. MODE OF EXAMINATION The PGET examination consists of a single paper of 2 hour duration which contains 50 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of only objective questions of multiple choice type. Each paper shall have a General Aptitude (GA) component carrying 20 marks. There will be negative marking. For every four wrong answer one mark will be deducted. LEGAL JURISDICTION All disputes pertaining to PGET-2011 shall fall within the jurisdiction of Kolkata only. CAUTION
Any selection for admission to M.Tech / M.Pharm in institutions affiliated to WBUT by-passing the common entrance test conducted by WBUT will be treated as the violation of WBUT academic council decision. The following institutes have officially informed that they already have completed their admission procedure prior to the notification. Hence, they have been exempted from the common entrance test. In addition to eligibility for PGET 2011, the Sponsored candidates must have one year experience in Polytechnic / Engineering College / Industry. A sponsorship certificate from the present employer shall be submitted along with the application form.
