Is a world dominated by Science a dream or nightmare for the future generations?

Definitions: Dominated- Full control Dream- An ideal and perfect place to live in, a utopia (an ideal and perfect place or state where everyone lives in harmony and everything is for the best) Nightmare- An undesirable situation to be in, a dystopia(a place where everything is as bad as it possibly can be)

Topic sentence 1(Gain from Science):

One of the powers of science is that it can bring about convenience to people. By having the convenience to accomplish tasks, we have more time for other matters and could in fact make life easier and simpler than before since time is limited to only 24 hours a day. This mean an ideal world that time is fully utilized to meet the future generations needs. Examples Science has increased the ability of people to communicate; internet allows people unprecedented access to information.

Topic sentence 2 (Gain from Science):

It is because of the domination of Science that we have become rational in our outlook and reasonable in approach. We are no longer swayed by emotions and our thinking is no longer clogged by conservatism or fanaticism. That is why modern man gets more satisfaction from his work than from anything else.

Topic sentence 3 (Power of Science): to challenge the value and definition of life
Science has given us so much power that we have started considering ourselves gods on earth. That is why we forget all about God and human limitations in our activities. Man got the ability to interfere in things that we know nothing about. (Eg. Cloning of animals and the recent announcement on the attempt to clone humans). Such meddling is irresponsible and potentially dangerous and most importantly it is taking place in the name of scientific advancement. Hence, our future generations may have to live in fear as our world is becoming more unsafe.

Topic sentence 4 (Loss from Science):

Science makes us mechanical in our outlook and kills the finer emotions like affection, love of humanity, friendliness and generosity. Such a person will not be anything more than a cold calculating machine which is dangerous for the society.

Topic sentence 5 (Limitations of Science):

Science makes us too much conscious of time and speed. This consciousness leaves a mental agony. That is why in the world dominated by science there is frustration, boredom and neurosis. All of these are the symptoms of a diseased mind.

Topic sentence 6 (Limitations of Science):

Science changes society's status quo in our future generations as people are fearful that many science advancements can only be used by the privileged and this may cause a new kind of gap between the haves and have nots.

Conclusion: In is clear that we may not be wise enough to decide what makes for a good
human being and a good human race. We assume that if our future generations were more intelligent and normal and good-looking, the world would be a more ideal and better place. But we are not clear of how much good trait we should put in people, as anything in excess is generally a bad thing. A world that has been taken full-controlled by Science may lead to selfcenteredness and eventually destruction to the world.
