Solar Water Heater Description Solar water heaters use solar energy to heat water for a variety of uses,

including home, businesses and industrial uses. Swimming pools heating, under-flooring heating, space heating or cooling are other possible uses of solar thermal energy.

Solar hot water systems are composed of solar collectors, which collects energy from the sun. The heat collected is moved, through a fluid system, from the collectors to a storage tank and from there to the point of usage. The system may use electricity for pumping the fluid, or heat convection, depending on the type. The system may include also thermostats and a controller device to control the operation based on temperature differentials and hot water demand. In most cases a solar water heater can provide up to 85% of domestic hot water.

Solar water heaters can be passive and active. Passive solar water heaters, also called thermo-siphon, do not required a circulating pump to move the fluid from the collectors to the tank. The tank is located above the collectors and the fluid circulates by heat convection. This type of solar thermal system is inexpensive, easier to install, and work well in warmer climates.

Active solar hot water systems use a pump to circulate the heat transfer fluid, or water, from the collectors to the storage tank. This type of system is usually more efficient than passive systems, but are also more expensive, and more difficult to install.

Solar water heaters require larger and well-insulated storage tank. It is possible, but not necessary, to keep the existent electric or gas water heater by interconnecting the system already in place to the solar water heater. The solar

water heaters pre-heats the water for the conventional water heater reducing the energy required, gas or electricity, to heat the water.

Two types of solar collectors are used for most all applications: flat-plate and evacuated-tube collector. Flat-plate collectors are indicated to warmer climates. Evacuated tube collectors are suitable to colder climates, larger residential or commercial applications. Both types of solar collectors can be used for passive or active systems.

Metamorphosis Communication Tower

We live in a consumer society, we usually end up with lots of plastic junk at our home, i always thought if i can use it in a way that it transforms to Art. There are lots of good geometrical forms in the plastic junk and by combining them together in a way that it fits each other perfectly and gives a good visual effect,in a sense of form, then it means we are getting somewhere. I tried not to cut or bend the pieces, just use them as they are and bring them together to develop and to become something totally different. I tried to call it Metamorphosis Art, where i start with something and by creative work i end up with something else. This time Communication Tower and one of my first Space ships is part of the composition. I used plastic glue for bringing them together and always thought of reinforcing the body by the way.

WASHING MACHINE
Disadvantages: o

It can only handle small laundry loads.

o Value of time. It will take about 4 hours to finish a laundry load that weighs about five pounds. The dryer could only dry of a full load of wash at a time when the laundry

is done. This means that you have to remove the other half from the washer-dryer and replace it with the other half.

Advantages: o One of the advantages of having a washer-dryer is it's price. It's like purchasing two machines with the price of one. o Another is the machines expenses. It will actually save you more money with your utilities and it is energy-saving. o And, it is advantageous because the combination of the washer and dryer utilizes the space in your home. Do a little research or canvassing when you are planning to purchase a washing machine and dryer combo. You can visit online or stores to know the price and the different kinds of the machines. You will be grateful if you take your time before you go ahead to buy a washing machine. If you don't have enough space in your house or living apartment or small home for the machines, you should find a stackable washing machine and dryer combination because it can save up a lot of space, money, and time.

Disadvantages: The washing machine needs detergent, electricity and water. This means an increase of consumption and expenses in your house. If you are about to buy a washing machine, you should bear these items in mind as future expenses and analyze your economic possibilities.

The washing machine occupies too much space. If you generally change spaces or live in small apartments, having a washing machine will be a disadvantage for you to move around and for the machine too.

Advantages: Having a washing machine will make you forget about laundromats. If you buy one, you will have enough freedom to wash clothes when you need to with comfort. The greatest washing machine's advantage is time. Just think about all the things you could be doing while clothes are being washed. Although prices are high, your time is precious. Specially, if you are with your family or performing activities you like. If you have your own washing machine, you can determine what kinds of washing procedures you need for each piece of cloth and you do not need other people to do it for you

NUCLEAR
Advantages:
Almost 0 emissions (very low greenhouse gas emissions). They can be sited almost anywhere unlike oil which is mostly imported. The plants almost never experience problems if not from human error, which almost never happens anyway because the plant only needs like 10 people to operate it. A small amount of matter creates a large amount of energy. A lot of energy is generated from a single power plant. Current nuclear waste in the US is over 90% Uranium. If reprocessing were made legal again in the US we would have enough nuclear material to last hundreds of years. A truckload of Uranium is equivalent in energy to 10,000+ truckloads of coal. (Assuming the Uranium is fully utilized.) A nuclear aircraft carrier can circle the globe continuously for 30 years on its original fuel while a diesel fueled carrier has a range of only about 3000 miles before having to refuel. Modern reactors have two to ten times more efficiency than the old generation reactors currently in use around the US. New reactor types have been designed to make it physically impossible to melt down. As the core gets hotter the reaction gets slower, hence a run-away reaction leading to a melt-down is not possible.

Theoretical reactors (traveling wave) are proposed to completely eliminate any longlived nuclear waste created from the process. Breeder reactors create more usable fuel than they use. Theoretical Thorium reactors have many of the benefits of Uranium reactors while removing much of the risk for proliferation as it is impossible to get weapons-grade nuclear materials from Thorium.

Disadvantages:
Nuclear plants are more expensive to build and maintain. Proliferation concerns - breeder reactors yield products that could potentially be stolen and turned into an atomic weapon. Waste products are dangerous and need to be carefully stored for long periods of time. The spent fuel is highly radioactive and has to be carefully stored for many years or decades after use. This adds to the costs. There is presently no adequate safe long-term storage for radioactive and chemical waste produced from early reactors, such as those in Hanford, Washington, some of which will need to be safely sealed and stored for thousands of years. Early nuclear research and experimentation has created massive contamination problems that are still uncontained. Recently, for instance, underground contamination emanating from the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington State in the U.S. was discovered and threatens to contaminate the Columbia River (the largest river in North America west of the continental divide). A lot of waste from early reactors was stored in containers meant for only a few decades, but is well past expiration and, resultingly, leaks are furthering contamination. Nuclear power plants can be dangerous to its surroundings and employees. It would cost a lot to clean in case of spillages. There exist safety concerns if the plant is not operated correctly or conditions arise that were unforeseen when the plant was developed, as happened at the Fukushima plant in Japan; the core melted down following an earthquake and tsunami the plant was not designed to handle despite the world's strongest earthquake codes. Many plants, including in the U.S., were designed with the assumption that "rare" events never actually occur, such as strong earthquakes on the east coast (the New Madrid quakes of the 1800s were much stronger than any east coast earthquake codes for nuclear reactors; a repeat of the New Madrid quakes would exceed the designed earthquake resiliency for nuclear reactors over a huge area due to how wide-spread rare but dangerous eastern North American earthquake effects spread), Atlantic

tsunami (such as the 1755 Lisbon quake event, which sent significant tsunami that caused damage from Europe to the Caribbean) and strong hurricanes which could affect areas such as New York that are unaccustomed to them (rare, but possibly more likely with global warming) Mishaps at nuclear plants can render hundreds of square miles of land uninhabitable and unsuitable for any use for years, decades or longer, and kill off entire river systems

cement
The production process for cement consists of drying, grinding and mixing limestone and additives like bauxite and iron ore into a powder known as raw meal. The raw meal is then heated and burned in a pre-heater and kiln and then cooled in an air cooling system to form a semi-finished product, known as a clinker. Clinker (95%) is cooled by air and subsequently ground with gypsum (5%) to form Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC). Other forms of cement require increased blending with other raw materials. Blending of clinker with other materials helps impart key characteristics to cement, which eventually govern its end use. There are two general processes for producing clinker and cement in India : a dry process and a wet process. The basic differences between these processes are the form in which the raw meal is fed into the kiln, and the amount of energy consumed in each of the processes. In the dry process, the raw meal is fed into the kiln in the form of a dry powder resulting in energy saving, whereas in the wet process the raw meal is fed into the kiln in the form of slurry. There is also a semi-dry process, which consumes more energy than the dry process but lesser than the wet process.

The basic steps involved in the production process is set out below:
All J.K. Cement plants are dry process plants. Limestone is crushed to a uniform and usable size, blended with certain additives (such as iron ore and bauxite) and discharged on a vertical roller mill, where the raw materials are ground to fine powder. An electrostatic precipitator dedusts the raw mill gases and collects the raw meal for a series of further stages of blending. The homogenized raw meal thus extracted is pumped to the top of a preheater by air lift pumps. In the preheaters the material is heated to 750C. Subsequently, the raw meal undergoes a process of calcination in a precalcinator (in which the carbonates present are reduced to oxides) and is then fed to the kiln. The remaining calcination and clinkerization reactions are completed in the kiln where the temperature is raised to between 1,450C and 1,500C. The clinker formed is cooled and conveyed to the clinker silo from where it is extracted and transported to the

cement mills for producing cement. For producing OPC, clinker and gypsum are used and for producing Portland *Pozzolana+ Cement (PPC), clinker, gypsum and fly ash are used. In the production of Portland Blast Furnace Stag Cement (PSC), granulated blast furnace slag from steel plants is added to clinke
