"On national television, Hinn recently shared an experience which should raise a red flag in the minds of all

thinking Christians. In the course of describing a Catholic communion service in Amarillo in which he took part, he stated that he suddenly felt numb, then felt someone step in front of him. The sensation become so real that he then reached out and touched a robe which had "a silky feeling, a beautiful softness to the robe. ... The next thing I was feeling was actually the form of a body, the shape of a body. And my body ... went totally numb.... And God really gave me a revelation that night, that when we partake communion, it's not just communion, Paul [Crouch]. We are partaking Christ Jesus himself. He did not say, "Take, eat, this represents my body." He said, "This is my body, broken for you..." When you partake communion, you're partaking Christ, and that heals your body. When you partake Jesus how can you stay weak?...sick? ... And so tonight, as we partake communion, we're not partaking bread. We're partaking what He said we would be partaking of: "This is my body."' " (The Confusing World Of Benny Hinn, G. Richard Fisher and M. Kurt Goedelman, pp. 132-133, quoting Praise The Lord Show, Trinity Broadcasting network, December 27, 1994.)

MY COMFORTER
Speaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: The Holy Spirit will help you to do greater things. Today Jesus tells you, .... he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. How is it possible for us to do greater works as said above? The answer to this is found in John 14:16 where Jesus said, And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever When the Comforter abides with you, you can stand to any situation in your life. He is mighty and strong. When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). He will be by your side and will fight for you and will help you to achieve greater things. It happened in the life of Pope John XXIII, a holy man of God. He was instrumental in emphasizing the importance of the Holy Spirit in the traditional Catholic Church. Pope John XXIII was waiting for the day to present the Vatican document that he had prepared with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The day was nearing for the presentation and it was the last night before the day of presentation. The next day he had to stand before the 23 cardinals for the presentation. Fear gripped him and he was restless, strolling in his room. He could not go to sleep. His mind was in a baffled state, thinking about the presentation of the document before the cardinals. All of a sudden he heard a gentle voice saying, Little John go to sleep. He was puzzled and he

talked to himself, Who is this who calls me little John? I am the Pope and no one had ever called me so, other than my mother. Again the same voice whispered, Little John go to sleep. Then he realized that it was the voice of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. Peacefully he went to bed. The next day he stood before the Cardinals and presented the Vatican document. Without any opposition it was accepted. He could achieve it only because of the Spirit of God, who was with him. Not by might or not by power but by His Spirit we can achieve anything in this world. Lean on His strength and you will end up doing greater things for the Lord. Prayer: Loving Lord, I believe that I can achieve greater things with the help of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. Today I humble myself and call upon the Holy Spirit to fill me. Lead me and strengthen me to do everything efficiently. Let the Holy Spirit abide with me forever. All glory and honor and praises to You alone. Amen.

Christ Church Anglican

"Protestant" The word Protestant is often loosely and to a large extent inaccurately applied to Anglican Churches. It is unfortunate that many Anglicans think of themselves as Protestants. In fact, Anglicanism is Protestant only in a most limited sense. It is Protestant in that it protested against and rebelled from the supreme authority of the Pope over all other bishops. It is also Protestant in that it protested against and set out to reform the many abuses which had crept into the worship and faith of the Roman Church of which the English Church had so long been a part. In these limited senses, Anglicanism is indeed Protestant, and honorably so. However, the objection to thinking of all Anglicanism primarily in terms of Protestant is that it serves to obscure the fact that, theologically and historically, Anglican Churches are Catholic. They retain the full and complete faith of Christianity, in its Sacramental form, and they are in continuity with the primitive Church, adhere to the ancient Creeds and base themselves firmly on the

Scriptures. These, after all, are the marks of Catholicism, shared with the Eastern Orthodox, the Roman Catholics, the Old Catholics, some Lutherans and others. Catholicism goes back to the beginning. Protestantism stems essentially from the 16th century, and marks a break theologically as well as organizationally with the established, historic form of Christianity. Anglicans can honor the Protestant Churches, can agree with them in some points. But Anglicans Home Location Our Schedule News Our Clergy Our Vestry The EMC Anglican Faith Contact Us Resources should never forget those marks of the full and complete Catholic faith which set them apart from Protestantism, such as the sacramental worship and ministers who are priests in the line of the Apostles. Anglicans have a right to think of themselves as being part of The Church, not just a denomination, much less a sect. In the most literal sense, Anglican Churches do constitute a denomination, that is, a religious body considered simply as a category into which a given person is to be classified without reference to religious implications. But again, frequent use of this word, denomination, tends to blur and obscure the fact that Anglicanism is part of the Church Catholic, the full and historic Church. In another leaflet in this series, a point has been made in discussing the term, Catholic, which ought to be repeated here and which all Anglicans should bear in mind. Anglicanism isa part of Catholicism which is Protestant Catholic insofar as it has protested against the supreme authority of the Pope. It is also Reformed Catholic insofar as it has always sought to removethose abuses and excrescences which crept into the Church at various times from the Dark Ages to modern times. But whatever adjective is applied, Anglicanism always retains the basic adjective of Catholic. In the light of the foregoing, Anglicanism has always thought of itself as a kind of bridge which might some day, in Gods providence, be used to bring together the Catholic and Protestant bodies. If that is ever to be, it will require the utmost faith, prayer, work, steadfastness and zeal from all Anglicans.
