ATHLETE
All-Terrain Hex-Legged Extra-Terrestrial Explorer

Six wheels at the ends of six limbs

Support human exploration in the Moon Transport the heavy materials on the surfaces Developed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and NASA

Appearance

Specification
Length: 8.4 m Height: 1.1 m - 6.4 m Weight: 2,340 kg Payload: 14,500 kg (Much Larger than Sojourner or the Mars Exploration Rovers) Max Speed: 10 km/h (100 times Faster than the Spirit and Opportunity) Max slope: 35 (solid surfaces) / 25 (soft surfaces) Max reach (using limb as arm): 15.5 m

Features
Each limb has enough Degrees of Freedom
Allows precise and flexible motion

Quick-disconnect Tool Adapters on the end of limbs

Can be used as a general-purpose manipulator Allow tools to be Powered by the motor in each wheel Enable drilling, gripping or other power-tool functions

Roll, Crawl and Walk over a surface

Can move along the excessively soft, obstacle rich, or other extreme terrain

Space Exploration Vehicle

It`s new generation space vehicle of NASA which is flexible depending on the destination. The pressurized cabin can be used both for inspace missions and for surface exploration of planetary bodies, including near-Earth objects, the moon and Mars.

Specs and Function Requirements of SEV

Specs
Weight : 6,600 pounds Payload : 2,200 pounds Length : 14.7 feet Wheelbase : 13 feet Height : 10 feet Wheels : 4.7 x 39 inches in diameter, 12 inches wide Size : Similar to pickup truck(with 12 wheels)

Function Requirements
Passenger Number : 2 astronaut for up Duration : 14 days with sleeping and sanitary facilities Speed : 10 kilometers per hour Pivot Angle : 360 degrees (like in the movie)

Features of SEV
Ranges of Exploration Presence of SEV on a planetary surface will extend exploration range to more than 125 miles. Even in the midst of challenging terrain, emergency shelter and support can be less than an hour away Astronaut Protection Rapidly accessible, pressurize and radiation- hard cabin can protect crew members for up to 72 hours against solar particle events and other emergencies Rapid Ingress/Egress The suit-port allows the crew to enter and exit their spacesuits without bringing the suit inside, make internal space comfortable Intra Vehicular Activity (IVA) Capability SEV gives crew members the unprecedented flexibility to easily switch the clothes. Also cabin serve as a rolling science lab for studying samples
