Your course grade will be determined by

Homework (20%): 15 homework assignments will be set, and the 3 lowest homework scores will be

dropped. These will be web-based with answers returned via the web. Quick Quizzes (7%): 9 quizzes will be set weekly during discussion groups. Each will last

approximately 10-15 minutes and the 2 lowest quiz scores will be dropped. For these you will need to use a iCLICKER. Please obtain one and register it with Quest to obtain your Clicker # if you have not already done

Exams (45%): 4 exams will be set in class as announced in the lecture schedule. These will all be in

bubble-sheet format. No exam scores will be dropped. Final (28%): a 3 hour comprehensive Final will be held on Tuesday Dec 13 beginning at 9:00am.

This will be in bubble-sheet format. Grades will use the +/ scheme but GRADE CUT-OFFS WILL NOT BE ANNOUNCED UNTIL AFTER THE FINAL EXAM.

OTHER INFORMATION
Quest Charge: this course makes use of the web-based Quest content delivery and homework server system maintained by the College of Natural Sciences. This homework service will require a $22 charge per student for its use, which goes towards the maintenance and operation of the resource. After the 12th day of class, when you log into Quest you will be asked to pay by credit card on a secure payment site. You have the option to wait up to 30 days to pay while still continuing to use Quest for your assignments. If you are taking more than one course using Quest, you will not have to pay more than $50 per semester. Quest provides mandatory instructional material for this course.
